Also, has a player drafted as late as Tune ever been the game 1 starter as a rookie?

I am honestly curious.

For me, this makes the most sense:
*Start Dobbs and hope for the best. If he struggles we go BACK TO THE FUTURE and insert Tune.
*This makes the fans happy as CT does represent hope and that is probably what we'll have to live with this season.

P.S. An extra plus for doing it my way, is that in case Tune plays well, half this Board can complain that this proves that the coaches don't know what they're doing.

Yeah,I'm sure Washington is real concerned that we haven't revealed whether the guy on the team for several days who has very limited NFL experience, or our 5th round rookie with no experience is going to be the starter.

This has nothing to do about him being successful or not, but Gannon comes across like such a donkey. Someone referenced Kendall Roy from Succession and now I can't un-see it.

Should I watch Succession?

Also, I didn't want to start a thread on this, so I'll leave it here:

Jonathan Gannon’s Gut Might Need A Little More Fire

Interesting - time will tell.

He has to prove he belongs.

I would imagine Dan Campbell was a bit like that in his first year (2021) and the roster looks similar to the 2023 Cardinals. Probably similar results as well.

Included 2021 and 2022 draft plus free agency moves (lots of 1 year deals).

I thought it was good. Not really a feel good show though.

If Petzing can become Gannon's version of Ben Johnson, maybe.

"Accusations of tanking increased after Colt McCoy was cut".

At this stage of his career and post injury, Starting McCoy would have been a better recipe for tanking success than Dobbs or Tune. Hell, maybe even Blough.
