The 2026 U.S. Senior Open, the third of five majors on the PGA Tour Champions, heads to the weekend but without several big names.

Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio, is hosting and that's where George McNeill shot 66 to get to 6 under and open a two-shot lead over Padraig Harrington. Tied for third at 3 under is Miguel Angel Jimenez, Stewart Cink and Charlie Wi.

However, on the other side of things is a notable list of those who missed the cut at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.

This is a shocker. It's the first missed cut in a Champions major for Alker, who was T5 at the Senior PGA and T11 at the Regions Tradition so far in 2026. In 2025, he finished top 10 in four of the five senior majors, and he routinely contended in the majors since his first full season on the tour in 2022. But the 2022 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship winner is out of the U.S. Senior Open after 36 holes after scores of 72 and 74.

The 72-year-old Haas routinely shot his age, and beat his age in the second round this week with a 70 but his first-round 76 was too much to overcome. It was four years ago at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans that Haas teamed up with his son Bill to become oldest player to make the cut on the PGA Tour.

The 2026 International team captain for the Presidents Cup posted scores of 72 and 75 and finished 7 over, one shot too many for the weekend.

Davis Love III

This was only the fourth event of the year for Love, who returned to the PGA Tour Champions about 14 months ago. That came less than three months after undergoing open-heart surgery. At Scioto, Love shot 73-76 and finished 9 over.

The 2009 Masters champ won two senior majors in 2025 (Senior PGA Championship, Regions Tradition) but was not sharp in the majors in 2026, missing the cut at the Senior PGA and posting T45 at the Regions Tradition. At the U.S. Senior Open, he shot 75 and 74 and finished 9 over.

The 1998 U.S. Amateur champ and two-time long-drive champ on the PGA Tour (2003, 2004), Keuhne was eligible for this championship for the first time this year. He shot 74 and 76 to finish at 10 over.

There were four players who withdrew from the event: Mark Calcavecchia, Scott Berliner, Kevin Sutherland and Boo Weekley.
