Played for Georgia and Miami.
Carson Beck is simply the winningest most experienced QB in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Had he not been injured last year he would have been a top 5 pick without hesitation.
He developed a slight reputation as a knucklehead,...and shined a bright light on the current NIL situation...when he showed up in Miami driving a brand new Lambourghini.
Mendoza is my guy for plug and play QB...but Beck is second...with Drew Allar coming in third based on the simple fact he is a complete package that simply suffered from really bad advice and coaching all through college.
Drew Allar is a "Barn Find"...you know...you are driving through the country and you see it...sitting next to the barn..all covered in muck.
You stop and the old lady who lives there tells you it once belonged to her son. a marvelous lad who loved it to death until his untimely demise twenty years ago. so she gives it to you cheap because you promise to love it just as much as her son did.
You take it home. spend the entire first week cleaning mud from the tailpipes. wasp nests from under the hood..and maybe a squirrel den in the trunk. But you get her shiny as new...
then for 5 months you strip her down to bare bones. replace every ring. every lifter...even put in some high tech space age material push rods...
you debate adding modern fuel injection...but decide to stick with the Holley four barrel...there is just something about the lope you get at idle from a carburetor that you just cant get with fuel injection.
But then the time comes. You turn the key...she roars to life...a deep throaty rumble that sets off the rictor scale at the local college. The flowmaster dual exhaust you sprung an extra 700 bucks for is earning its money from the very first time you rack up the RPM's.
Paint?? She dont need paint. The beauty is purely in the design.
so what is she?? A 69" Mustang Fastback?? a 68 Camaro perhaps?? Or are you MOPAR savvy, and the 1969 Dodge Charger with the 440 Magnum is what does it for you??
Doesnt matter.
Because when you roll up in classic power...even the haters nod with respect.
The whole question is whether or not we got the guys that can fine tune Allar into that classic NFL QB powerhouse.

Since we can't have Mendoza, I've been saying for a while that we need to get Beck if we can get him in the 3rd. Now, I am also throwing in Allar as well after watching videos. Both Beck and Allar are tall and they play taller in the pocket. If you go back and listen to MLF's most recent interview, he keeps referring to tall QB's that manage the game fit perfect in his system. I'm now thinking we get Allar in the 4th or trade up and get him late 3rd since Beck will be taken earlier than everyone expected.

Beck and Allar will both be gone before the fourth round. probably before the third...
we have the first pick in round three..if one of them is still on the board at that point we need to snatch him up.
Beck has the resume and the experience.
Allar has the prototype measurables and traits...the NFL loves traits...and both have shown they can throw the entire tree
Not a fan of Beck. He seems to lack composure the longer he plays in key games. He tends to force the ball when struggling, lacks patience. He’s okay as a backup, but I don’t see him starting in the NFL.

I once rolled my dad’s Vega down the driveway and almost took out our neighbors mailbox when I was about five. So I’m all in on trading down and going full O and D line across the board, with the exception of taking Emmett Johnson in the third.
but was it a Cosworth Vega??
Makes all the difference.
My buddy drove a Vega with a retrofit 327...damn car was dangerous as hell to drive...worse to ride in.

Friend of mine put a 351 Windsor in a Vega hatchback. Had L60 tires on the back on a rear axle he got from somewhere. He could light the tires as far as he wanted, but too light in the back, couldn’t get traction.

You think Beck and Allar are more NFL ready than Garrett Nussmeier? I was under the impression he’s the most plug and play guy.
Saw link but didn’t watch. He was a great QB and outstanding at reading defenses. However, I haven’t been impressed with his prospect assessment. What did you see of interest?
If Nussmeier could control his risk taking, he’s the best dual threat QB. He’s a coach killer. Beck is fine until the pressure gets to him. Some call it fourth quarteritis. Allar looks the part but executes erratically.

Also there were no downsides and that is impossible, otherwise he would be the lock for pick 1
I had a 79 mustang ghia with the 351 cobrajet that had the same issue. Could peg the speedometer past 120mph and never move an inch.
Hard to drive that thing in the rain, lol...could slip traction up to 50 mph if I floored it.

Allar, it's all about measurable and raw talent. The kid has it all but he was unfortunate enough to get with a horrible coach and immature/foolish enough to trust him.
I mean...what kind of coach advises his young QB against going to the Manning Academy to learn from Peyton and Eli??
Allar will need to redshirt his rookie season. But the potential is there for the picking if you got a decent QB coach.

I like Beck more than Simpson as a late draft QB.
Neither will be a franchise QB probably but at least Beck has shown he can beat out competition and play at a high level.

Why is this a good thing ?
Couldn't agree more with Allar. Franklin is such a control freak he advised Allar actually talked him into not going to the Manning camp. Then on top of that having a QB coach who was a graduate assistant just a few years prior didn't do Allar any good either.
If you could give Allar a competent coach to fix his shortcomings which are mostly technical, he could very well become a find that can solve your QB position for years to come. He most certainly will need a redshirt year in the NFL.

Not a strong arm, fragile & lacks poise at critical moments.
He was a lousy coach, but that doesn’t mean Allar is a good QB.
