Which local wrestlers qualified for the New York State tournament?

The New York State wrestling championships, hosted by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) will take place Feb. 26-28 at MVP Arena in Albany.

The girls freestyle tournament is on Feb. 26. Boys competition for Div. I (large schools) and Div. II (small schools) begins Feb. 27 and concludes Feb. 28. Qualifying events are occurring around the state for the event, including on Feb. 15 where Iona Prep, Stepinac and the rest of the teams in the CHSAA statewide hold their CHSAA New York State Championships at St. Mary's High School in Lancaster.

Section 1 already held its qualifying for the events. This year, Section 1 gets two entries per weight class in Div. I and one entry per weight class in Div. II. In girls wrestling, Section 1 received an additional entry at 94 pounds, 100, 107, 185 and 235. The AIS for the state's private schools has also held its qualifier, with its entries being placed in the Div. II tournament.
