When the week started at the 2026 U.S. Open, there were 13 LIV Golf players in the field. That number has been trimmed to six with Friday's cut, and plenty of big names were sent packing after 36 holes.
Friday was not a great day at Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, New York, for LIV's starts, with the two biggest names tumbling down the leaderboard to miss the weekend. Others did earn themselves a spot on the tee sheet for Saturday and Sunday, but some LIV players will now have to wait until the Open Championship until they tee it up again.
The cut came at 4-over 144.
Bryson DeChambeau won the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, the second (and latest) major win for a LIV player.
