Wisconsin basketball added another statement win to its resume on Tuesday night, as it defeated No. 8 Illinois 92-90.
As has been the case all season, guards John Blackwell and Nick Boyd led the way for the Badgers. Blackwell finished with 24 points, four assists and three rebounds while shooting 9-of-22 from the floor and 5-of-11 from 3. Boyd added 25 points of his own, in addition to five assists, two rebounds and two steals. He shot an impressive 10-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-5 from 3 to reach those marks.
The triumph is Wisconsin's second against a Quad 1 opponent this season, following its big road win over Michigan last month. Those wins highlight a resume that should have the team in a strong position to make the NCAA Tournament field.
More notably, the Badgers rose in national rating metrics after Tuesday's victory. Here is the team's updated standing in KenPom and ESPN's Basketball Power Index.
