It's the summer of extensions for the Seattle Seahawks. They re-signed Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe prior to them hitting free agency. And now after signing Jaxon Smith-Njigba to a historic contract extension, they've also signed pass rusher Derick Hall to an extension.

The Seahawks signed Hall to a three-year, $42 million extension on Tuesday. Hall was previously slated to enter the final year of his rookie contract in 2026. He's now under contract with the Seahawks for four more seasons, through the 2029 campaign.

Hall's extension includes $21 million in guaranteed money, and can be worth a maximum value of $46 million if certain performance-based incentives are met. Once the extension officially kicks in next season, Hall's average annual salary will be $14 million. That's a team-friendly number for John Schneider and the Seahawks.

That makes Hall the 33rd-highest paid EDGE rusher in the NFL, per Over The Cap. With the highest-paid EDGE now earning $50 million per season (Will Anderson Jr.), it reflects how team-friendly Hall's extension with the Seahawks is. Furthermore, additional contracts will be signed before the extension officially kicks in, meaning it'll be even lower than 33rd.

Hall logged eight sacks as a sophomore in 2024. This past campaign, he played more of a rotational role behind Uchenna Nwosu and DeMarcus Lawrence. Hall did register two sacks and a forced fumble during Super Bowl LX.
