Will it be a player on “ legal tampering “ day Monday?
Wednesday?
Thursday?
Friday?
Next week?
Are we going to start the redundant “ let the market settle down” rhetoric?
I’m not talking about resigning our own players. I’m talking about adding from the outside.

Well many will call for patience. Then we will realize the top tier are gone. Then we will be going nuts. Pretty predictable.

If Malik Willis is happening I expect it to happen in the tampering window. There are actually few teams in need that can afford him.

With Vegas going Mendoza it's the Jets or us. And all the talk has been that the Jet's want a vet, I've not seen any link to Willis.

You would think Willis would want to come here also, just because your own personal interest would make you feel the the brother of the HC that "turned you around" is more likely to know and understand your game, what you need, and work around you than a completely strange situation at the Jets. Mike has been up to Wisconsin, I would not be surprised if he's met Willis before.

So yeah, if it's going to happen it should already be already in the bag and just waiting for the window to open. And Monti would want to get this done first so other FA's know we have a QB with a shot.

I want to believe this. But it’s not going to happen.

I've heard Dolphins as well. Sure the Tua 99 million cap hit is large but Gandhi will explain how the CAP isn't real :)

Beyond Malik I believe an off the ball LB in free agency is a must to pair with Mack Wilson. Obviously offensive line is at or near the top.

I've heard Dolphins are very interested but they have $4m in cap space after he Minkah trade.

I'm sure they could free up more with restructures but do they want to spend every penny then have on Willis? They could have Geno Smith (who is from Miami) for free.

Wait, the Tya cut adds $42m in dead cap, even if they post June 1st it it's still over $11m. Don't see how they can pay him.

They don't even have that many big contracts to restructure. They could cut Chubb, he gets them $7m back. After that they only have 4 players earning $10-15m and two of them are already structure in such a way to be cheaper this year.

What a gamble
He showed some skills in few snaps but investing so much on him seems a desperate move
I would prioritize tge offensive line and pair brisset with a veteran qb, in any case they would have a shot for a better talent next year

It is a desperate move, but they left themselves only desperate moves in the way they handled this year.

They should have rode Gannon into the ground for another year until the QB situation was cleaned up and then they have options in 2027. Putting in a new offensive HC in a crappy QB market means they have to gamble.

FWIW I think Jimmy goes back to the Rams. Unless he's promised starts, and if the Rams want him back, why would he go elsewhere?

Jimmy G strikes me as a guy who will love the Socal lifestyle. I'm not sure why he'd go to the desert (or elsewhere) to be a backup if he can stay with the Rams. Even if there is marginally more money in it, considering he's already set for life.
