seems like one of the only things left to talk about - cards have the money to get a vet but the two remaining bad asses are age 33 and 32

then you have will hernandez - your guess is as good as mine but i don't think we're bringing him back simply because we haven't

i don't think our guard crops have matured enough but again - look at that free agency list and remember how monti gets down

im thinking a vet on a two year deal that's really a one year deal - but shouldn't hernandez make the most sense?

I'd take a 33 year old Scherff, who hasn't missed a game in 4 years over a almost 30 year old injury prone Hernandez. Can't protect the QB from IR. Then let Conner, Adams and Brown battle it out for the other spot.

Hernandez isn't injury prone.
He got injured. Big difference.
It ain't like he has been missing 6 or 8 games every year.

No, just every other year.
Missed 3 games in 2020
Missed 4 games in 2022
Missed 12 games in 2024
Missed 19 games 2020-2024. That is more than an entire season of games.

This is an odd year, so maybe we'll get a full season.

3 or 4 games a season is nothing out of 17 games. Little injuries along the way are to be expected

Time to use cap space and hit the waiver wire. I like the 7th rounder too who might fight off some big gutted vets that somehow get by.

missing 23.5% of games isn't nothing
The average games missed for injury for an NFL player is 3.1 a season. Three games divided by 17 is 17.6%. Four games divided by 17 is...... 23.5%.

Hernandez is not excessively injured by NFL standards.

He's missed 29% since 2020 and each time he misses more time on the same knee and he is about to turn 30. Nice player, great human, aging knee!

I don't know if he's fit to play or not. If he ever takes a physical and tries to play again we will find out. If he passes the physical, good for him, he can play. If he doesn't pass the physical, then he won't play.

Sixty-three % of offensive linemen successfully return from ACL reconstruction to play again. However, any NFL position, after ACL reconstruction, is 6X more likely to have another ACL tear than those players who have never had one. Often in the other knee, not the reconstructed one.

Slow news day amirite

cardinals are very territorial - especially during the breeding season when males will sing to defend their territory

rarely - cardinals can be yellow due to the xanthochromism genetic mutation or nearly white due to leucism

cardinals can live up to 15 years - though their average lifespan in the wild is about 3

some believe seeing a cardinal is a message from a loved one who has passed away

Hernandez on a contract that adds bonuses for every game he is on the game day roster makes the most sense to me.

Even though we have a new OL coach he is familiar with the Petzing offense and if healthy would have the least trouble acclimating to teammates and coaches.

From Spring to Fall, I wake up to the song of Cardinals.

You have to look at it by position group too. OL has the highest rate of injury and knee injuries at 18% of all injuries. Scherff hasn't missed a game in 4 years Hernandez has missed 29% of games over that span. If we can't get Scherff, I'll take Hernandez back, but I'd rather have the more durable player. Once Hernandez went down, the line started to have issues, which will have when the 2nd strongest position becomes the worst. It affects everyone else on the line.

I couldn’t disagree more. This would imply that he chooses to be hurt or not to play hurt, which is not the case.
