What Could Life After Murray Look Like

We could get lucky in the Draft (Purdy), and start the year with a choice of: Wentz, Flacco, Lock or Rosen (if we can get him to un-retire). Or possibly Fields if we trade KM to the Jets. Can't wait.

Ain't gonna lie....it could be pretty amusing to start Fields...and somehow the dude throws 5 TD's against the niners and runs for 150....it might even be worth it knowing he is gonna lose every other game he starts.

I would like to see The Petzing gone. But if he stays we should give him the proper tools...his system is designed for a prototype QB that throws on rhythm....and there just happens to be 2 or 3 of those guys in this upcoming draft.
We should get one.

It’s deranged to think a team will give up a top 10 pick for Murray.

Life without him will look like the past two seasons. We should bring in Zach Wilson for the lolz.

Much of this depends on how many teams are competing for him. His age is younger than the typical available two threat QBs. QBs are expensive, especially one with Murray’s talent level and youth. Being 12th in average dollars and 2 years controllable makes him even more valuable.

If we're moving on from Murray after this season, then we've probably had a 3rd losing season in a row under JG which would almost most certainly mean he's on the hot seat if not outright fired. Starting Brissett or a rookie quarterback would probably result in another losing season and I find it doubtful that JG would still be the head coach after 4 losing seasons in a row.

If we do move on from Murray, I'd prefer to replace him with a solid vet not Brissett or a rookie.

thats nearly a third of the league with either a bad, or a highly uncertain QB situation.

So -- somebody probably takes a chance on Kyler in a trade but thats the easy part of the deal.

I dunno. An available quarterback would probably have flaws or issues.

A rookie quarterback would probably have the most upside but it would probably be 2 to 3 years before we potentially have a winning team with them. Plus I'd prefer that a head coach not on the hot seat be picking a quarterback.

The biggest issue with a plan to move on from Murray is that the Cardinals do not have the coaching infrastructure to support and develop a rookie QB.

I agree with Harry that it is time to move on from Murray after this season. I don't think we will get as much for him as Harry feels but who cares just move on!
I like having Brissett as the 2026 starter with a rookie qb waiting in the wings and leaning. Just don't draft a short qb.

I don't think Murray will bring much in trade value. But that's not the point. The point is to move on instead this wash, rinse, repeat cycle the Cards are on if they continue to stick with him.

People think, well, who can we get or will we be like the Browns and continually looking for a QB?

I say, look at the Broncos. They paid a fortune for Wilson in trade, gave him a huge contract, saw it wasn't going to work and moved on. Cap hit be damned.

They did all that and now are in a better situation, moving forward, at QB. You have to be willing to take chances and move on.

I even give Cleveland credit for trying. Watson was the guy they wanted and got him. It turned out to be a huge mistake but at least they tried.
