Georgia baseball is back in the SEC Tournament final for the first time since 1989 after slipping past Florida 8-7 in the tournament semifinals.
No. 4 Georgia (45-12) will play No. 13 Arkansas (39-19) at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, on ABC.
The Bulldogs trailed 6-0 heading into the fourth inning against Florida. A sacrifice fly by Brennan Hudson scored Lujo Rylan, then back-to-back doubles from Kolby Branch and Ryan Black knocked in additional runs to cut the deficit to 6-3. Daniel Jackson scored on wild pitch to pull the Bulldogs within two runs before an hour-long rain delay.
"We have a motto that we try not to panic at any time, and I just keep telling our guys, just stay within the process," coach Wes Johnson said.
Florida added a run in the seventh, and Georgia answered with two runs of its own. In the eighth, Branch scored off a sacrifice fly from Tre Phelps. Black scored the game-winning run off a sacrifice fly from Jackson.
