Georgia baseball will play for its first SEC Tournament championship in program history on Sunday.
The top-seeded and No. 4 Bulldogs go up against No. 7 seed and No. 13 ranked Arkansas in Hoover, Ala.
Georgia (45-12) rallied from a 6-0 deficit to knock off Florida 8-7, on Saturday after a weather delay.
Arkansas (39-19) also had to wait out a two hour and 15 minute rain delay before clinching its spot with a 2-1 win over Auburn.
The Bulldogs are in the SEC Tournament finals for the first time since they beat Auburn 2-1 in 1989 in Gainesville, Fla.
“It's definitely exciting,” third baseman Tre Phelps said. “We've been playing a lot of, I feel, what would be emotional games all year. Going on the road playing in five tough environments and playing tough teams coming to us and playing like a team like (Georgia) Tech in Truist. …Just being able to play with a focus and know that it's going to be a big game, it's just who is going to be able to focus longer.”
Outfielder Kenny Ishikawa went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs Saturday and reliever Justin Byrd pitched two shutout innings for the win.
Georgia took two of three from the Razorbacks April 16-18 in Fayetteville.
Arkansas won a series at Kentucky May 14-16 and then rolled into SEC Tournament play starting Wednesday where it has won three games.
"We've been on the road for like, this will be our 11th or 12th night in a hotel in a row," coach Dave Van Horn said. "Guys are just loose, and let's go play, it's been a great week and let's see if we can finish it off.
RHP Paul Farley (7-1, 4.99 ERA) vs. RHP Tate McGuire (1-0, 4.30).
