I wouldn’t call it desired. When shutting down P&R becomes a desired outcome, irony is irrelevant.

If it was one time i would find the irony but you have done it literally dozens of times. I'm sorry but I haven't been able to ever really take you or you intentions seriously. In my opinion you are intellectually dishonest and a waste of time to talk to.I guess you missed the purposeful irony.
The irony in your posts is off the charts. Literally out of everyone here I value your opinion or thoughts the least. You are factually challenged and that is being generous. Not to mention one of the biggest offenders and trolls on the board. You set a new bar for hypocrisy almost daily. Forgive me if I couldn’t care any less about what you think. If it was one time i would find the irony but you have done it literally dozens of times. You make things up, and you are a problem here.
Have a nice day.
it's hilariousIs anyone else laughing at the irony of this thread?
Then stop trolling me after every post. The irony in your posts is off the charts. Literally out of everyone here I value your opinion or thoughts the least. Is anyone else laughing at the irony of this thread? And I really do mean laughing, it's just so P&R of us.
if it continues to be an echo chamber then yes what is the use.Well, he has literally posted that P&R should be shut down.
Not true Main. You definitely scored with this post. Very insightful. All we have to do is be polite to each other and act civilized.
No one is keeping score. There is no winner or loser except knowledge, and being rude closes minds.
Doesn't anyone care about the legacy they leave here?
Maybe pretend one is writing a book and this is what you leave posterity to read.
I would moderate it a little. But make the ban a true deterrent. A year ban. Then you’re allowed back in a short leash. If a years ban doesn’t teach you to curb your bad actions you’re likely hopeless.I had this thought last night. No more day bans, week bans, etc. If you break the rules. You're out. Forever.
That would stinkI get the impression that the mods are just tired of all the drama and don’t want to deal with it anymore. So it’s probably going to remain shut down
I get your intention but I don’t think this is a realistic ask of the mods. It then falls to them to define and police what is, and what is not, an acceptable source. We shouldn’t expect that of the mods.I know, i mean the guy really is one of a kind. The pretentiousness knows no bounds.
BIM-- you and the other MODS have any idea if we could implement some type of rule where sources need to be actual sources and not random opinions from a social media platform? I feel like that would be a good start because it seems like many discussions seems to go out of control due to the validity of the source. It takes the conversation sideways
I agree with what you’re saying. The issue is that unlike talking sports, so many of the topics on P&R may have VERY scary, VERY personal, repercussions. It’s difficult to maintain a cool head when someone else’s opinion may put your life or rights at risk. That said, we are (presumably) all adults. We should (including myself) all be better about how we interact. I don’t mind someone teaching me something - particularly if my actions or perspective endanger another. I initially try to educate others regarding antisemitism as an example. But once I see that the education falls on deaf ears I just have to let it go. We all just have to learn to let it go. We can’t change everyone. Particularly on the internet. No matter how maddening or scary they might be to us and our loved ones. All we have to do is be polite to each other and act civilized.

I think a month ban is sufficient. I mean if you have been gone for an entire month and the first thing you comeback and do is troll like some or our repeat offenders? It's likely hopeless long before a year time frame.I would moderate it a little. But make the ban a true deterrent. A year ban. Then you’re allowed back in a short leash. If a years ban doesn’t teach you to curb your bad actions you’re likely hopeless.
I think as a mod I’d take anyone’s call for the P&R board to be shut down as insight into their true motivation. But that’s just me. I’d be skeptical regarding anyone’s inclusion in something they profess to want to eliminate.I don’t want P&R shut down but it’s clear that is the goal our resident trolls. Hopefully we can come together and agree on a solution and it will open again.
Agree. That’s why the board is more important to me than to have the ability to yell at someone else. However, if we cannot articulate a counterargument without insulting another poster as a person, there will be no place to talk about P&R issues or make a point that needs to be made.
