The Los Angeles Dodgers reassigned 12 players to the minors following Sunday’s game against the Athletics, but it’s not the end of the road for these players this spring.

While these 12 players, as well as the 11 players reassigned a week before them, have been taken out of contention for a 40-man roster spot this season, they’re still eligible to feature for the Dodgers throughout the remainder of Cactus League play.

The Dodgers have sent pitchers Patrick Copen, Jerming Rosario, Luke Fox, Adam Serwinowski, Nick Frasso, Jose Rodriguez, Carlos Duran, Carson Hobbs, Garrett McDaniels, Jackson Ferris, Wyatt Mills, Jordan Weems and Lucas Wepf, catchers Nelson Quiroz, Chuckie Robinson and Griffin Lockwood-Powell, Infielders Keston Hiura and Matt Gorski and outfielders Josue De Paula, Kendall George an Chris Newell to the minors so far. Additionally, they optioned outfielder Ryan Ward and pitcher Ronan Kopp to Triple-A.

While all of these players are eligible to return to spring training games, the Dodgers are yet to field any of them following their reassignment.

The Dodgers pit the players against each other in simulated games in the minor league camp, where they have more control over the game and players and are able to make adjustments where they see fit. Roki Sasaki will pitch in one of these games Tuesday, with manager Dave Roberts citing his need to “build up” as the cause.

Which Reassigned Dodgers are Most Likely to Make Another Spring Training Appearance?

As previously mentioned, the Dodgers haven’t brought back any of their players from minor league camp to feature in a spring training game. That’s not to say they won’t, though.

Prior to their most recent reassignment, Josue De Paula featured in 14 games for the Dodgers — the most on the team in that time. He had 24 at-bats, hitting .375 with an .881 OPS, and makes a strong case to make at least one more appearance as the team’s No. 1 prospect.

Ryan Ward had the most at-bats on the team prior to his option to Triple-A, and could also feature in a game before the end of the spring, but he hasn’t been as impressive at the plate. He posted a .401 OPS through 32 at-bats before the Dodgers moved him.

Whether they come back or not, all of the Dodgers’ reassigned players will look to continue making an impression and further their progression within one of the strongest organizations in baseball.

Do you think the Dodgers will bring any reassigned players into another spring training game?
