The Los Angeles Dodgers’ minor league system is among the best in MLB, and it flexed its muscles over the past week.
Four Dodgers prospects earned player of the week honors across four levels of the minor leagues for the week of May 25-31.
Outfielder James Tibbs III won the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Week in Triple-A, outfielder Josue De Paula earned the same honor in the Texas League in Double-A, outfielder Jaron Elkins took home Player of the Week with Single-A Ontario in the California league and Alex Makarewich earned Pitcher of the Week with High-A Great Lakes.
James Tibbs III
Tibbs had a monstrous week with Oklahoma City, homering in four consecutive games and driving in 13 RBIs during that stretch. He had seven hits in 18 trips across the Comets’ five-game series against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, and improved his season OPS to a PCL-leading 1.085.
The outfielder started the year in a similar fashion, and could find his way to MLB soon if the Dodgers see fit.

Josue De Paula
De Paula topped off a fantastic week in Double-A with an electric performance May 31, where he went 4-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs. He recorded multiple hits in three of his six games during the week, and reached base with a knock in all of them. The Dodgers’ No. 1 prospect has reached base in every game since May 14.
On the season, De Paula has a .969 OPS as well as eight homers and 45 RBIs through 48 games.
Jaron Elkins
Elkins came back from the injured list midway through the week, and put up the best offensive numbers on Single-A Ontario after his return. He had eight hits over the four games he played after returning, and hit three homers.
In the only game which he didn’t homer, Elkins had two doubles and a triple in a 4-for-5 performance.
Alex Makarewich
Makarewich only made two relief appearances during the week, but looked extremely sharp in both of them.
He pitched a total of three innings across those two games, only allowing one baserunner via walk. Eight of his nine outs came via strikeout during that stretch. On the year, he has a 3-0 record with a 3.20 ERA and 34 strikeouts through 19.2 innings pitched.
Which Dodgers prospect have you been most impressed with this season?
