Graves and Wisenhunt have said that the focus will be on getting the core taken care of and that the team wont be as active in free agency as it was last year.

I wouldn't be shocked if they really mean that but we have to keep in mind that if they mention any names before the free agency period begins they can be accused to tampering and be penalized.

Sign Fitz to an extension.
Sign Dansby.
Pace will be allowed to shop the market. Let's match any decent and fair offer he receives.
Re-do Gandy's contract

This draft is deep in 3 areas of concern....

cb's
rb's
offensive line.

Sign 1 or 2 free agents of the categories above and the draft will take care of the one spot left.

I'd like to see Faneca and Florence become Cardinals. Then with our first 3 picks we could go free safety , rb , pass rush specialist.

Fourth round ....a punter
Fifth round .......a placekicker
6th round.......... a speedster wr
7th round .........BPA

I hope we don't overspend for this guy.

Overspend? How do you do that for one of the best linemen in the NFL bar none? As long as they pay him market value, he is worth every penny. No team is going to pay this guy QB money to play for them.

i think that means we won't be bringing 9 guys in. Maybe 2 to 4 guys will be the number. Here's my 4, Faneca,Florence, Bironas, Drew Carter. That's assuming they all hit the market.I'm sure Faneca and Florence will. Carter may be a RFA,not sure, and Tennessee would be stupid to let their best offensive player hit the market but,on the other hand, he is just a kicker.

Faneca an option for Seahawks?

With it sounding like All-Pro guard Alan Faneca is leaving Pittsburgh and free agency two months away the Seattle Seahawks might consider adding Faneca even though he'd come at a hefty price?
Given Seattle's issues with a young and still learning Rob Sims at left guard and aging Chris Gray at right guard. And the running game hasn't been the same since Steve Hutchinson departed.
Faneca could be just what the Seahawks are looking for according to the Seattle Times.

Depending on cap-terms and physical evaluation (3+ likely years of good football left, I'd like to see Faneca at LG.

At the risk of sounding contentious - I'm still not happy with our running game production and feel that Faneca in place of Wells (who might be a better fit at LT anyway) would be a significant upgrade.

i'M IN. 17Mil. for 3 yrs. option for a 4th. should get him here.

Wow :stick: Thats really the last thing I wanted to read. I have heard mention of him going to the Rams as well. If Grimm stays (and even if he doesn't as it sounds like he loved Wiz too) I would have a hard time thinking that the Cards would allow this to happen.
