It’s worth interrogating whether we already had an upper tier OC in Petzing, but he was stymied by Kyler and then RB and OL injuries.
the fact that the competent Lions snapped him up suggests he was an upper tier OC.

The turtle-ing in key moments last year was a real problem. Maybe that was Gannon leaning on him, but way too many games where they treated a one score or less lead with 4 mins to play like it was a two score lead.

Splurging on Chilis....isn't that a borderline oxymoron?
For a Midwest 4 Chili's is a splurge...as Uber eats and a tip for the driver to remain silent is more appropriate.
Chili's would be standard fair for a Pennsylvania 4...or an Arizona 6...
Or, full on slumming for a Miami 4.

It's degrees man.

Sportsnaut — a site no one has ever heard of before — has an insight into the workings of the Colts FO?
Yeah...
Yahoo trusts him.
He may not have followers but he has enough money or know how to influence the algorithms

It looks like Gannon may have influenced coordinators to be ultra conservative.

Raise your hand. How many here predicted the Patriots were going to make it to the Super Bowl.

I know we won’t but it’s the only time of the year we can dream.

They had a good defense, a legit MVP QB candidate, and good coaching.

(Yes, yes, easy schedule, still)

What do we got?

It’s kind of sad how easy it would have been for us to be this story. New England’s division was low-key kind of okay? Miami fired their coach after going 7-10. The Bills were a Super Bowl aspirant.

They played the AFC South that was actually butt and the NFC South, which we also played. They were 7-3 in games decided by seven points or fewer. They were a legitimate playoff team but their path to the Super Bowl was deeply fraudulent.

think about how likely this was:

the No. 1 seed Broncos were one FG away from eliminating what sure looked like the 2nd best team in the conference in the Bills -- and their QB breaks his ankle positioning the ball for the FG attempt.
