PHNX have "sourced" that Love will be the pick to generate fan interest in the team, tickets, merch sales, etc. This is being pushed by Mike Bidwill.
Aparently the trade talks with KC have been "exploratory" and are not firm offers. So MO may not being getting good offers for #3 given the quality of the draft.
