Still here. Not sure why anyone would conceal a meniscus tear. Of course I don’t know Nolen and maybe he would. I’ll stick with what I posted, but I’m here to take the heat if what I was told proves incorrect.
I won’t miss Gannon’s pressers where all he’d say was “Walter has a knee thing”.

Most teams do this. If not all. Isn't there some HIPA law that prevents them?
there are laws that prevent exposure of certain types of medical information without patient consent. However I am sure blanket consent is included in the contract as most teams release the basic type and severity of player injuries

BTW the even if it’s a severe tear and required surgery, he should be in training camp by the end of June.
Even if that were the case, with the ultra conservative approach the Cardinals take with injuries, he wouldn’t be playing in an actual game until week 10 ugh!

New regime in place and a GM who needs to start showing results (one hopes) could mean a shift in how recovery is planned.

I had been told his injury was an ACL tear that required surgery, i.e. a level 3. That would certainly put him out most, if not all the season.
well no offense but I hope youre really really wrong LOL

Agree. Monti has one foot out the door, so I think we’ll see urgency this offseason.

He had a decent 2023 draft with PJJ, Garrett Williams, Michael Wilson, and the 6th round DT, but the last two have been sub optimal imo

He had a couple wins in FA last offseason in Josh Sweat and Calais and to a lesser extent with Tomlinson. He needs to add at least two good starters next week.

Way too early to label last year's draft "sub optimal". Five rookies got significant playing time and showed potential(Will Johnson, Denzel Burke, Cody Simon, Jordan Burch, Kitan Crawford). Their first round choice, Walter Nolen, looks like a home run. This draft looks more like a very good draft than a sub optimal draft. As always, time will tell.

Simon, Burch, and Crawford showed nothing to make us think they’re anything more than depth players. All of these guys contributed to one of the worst defenses in the league and strongly contributed to their coach getting fired and our 3-14 record.

Look to the Rams to see how a good defensive draft class can contribute to success.

Cardinals made a giant mistake not shutting Walter Nolan down after his first tweak.
disagree.
Nearly every player on every team has some sort of "Tweak" by week three. You cant sit a guy every time he gets a booboo...you play him, hoping it is not something serious hiding behind light symptoms or that it doesnt get worse....
of course, we dont know the dialogue that took place...if he were tweaked and they kept him in that game without waiting for imagery ...then yeah, maybe...but not from one game to the next...
but even that often comes down to the player...the best a coach has to work with many times is just the player saying "Yeah coach, Im good,,,put me in"

His GF has become active on TikTok and has said he had a torn meniscus. He should hopefully be ready for next season. Good news!

Although meniscus repairs do have a significantly higher failure rate than ACL reconstructions.... I'm not gonna over think it, you'd rather it be meniscus than ACL.

Monti must be furious.
