They earned five points from their performance at state, specifically a girls singles title from Amelia Taylor. The girls cross country team earned four points for its fourth-place finish at state, while the marching band scored four more after advancing to state.

The robotics team earned a point by qualifying for the state competition, while the cheerleading team scored a point by placing in the top 20 at state.

Wall's Lone Star Cup win comes on the heels of its Class 3A Texas Cup win on Thursday, which was awarded by the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association.

The Texas Cup is an athletic competition that aims to determine the highest achieving high school sports programs across the State of Texas. Points were earned by placing in district, regional and state competitions.

This year's Texas Cup winners by classification were Gordon in 1A, Shiner in 2A, Wall in 3A, Canyon in 4A, Aledo in 5A and Southlake Carroll in 6A.

“It’s just a great honor to be recognized for this award,” Wall athletic director Bryan Morrison said. “Our athletic program has had just a tremendous year. It’s a great honor to be named in the same breath as some of the other schools that also won this award. It’s quite an accomplishment and a great honor.”
