Wall Independent School District announced it had hired Bowie baseball coach Jason McCoy as its next baseball coach, Athletic Director Bryan Morrison confirmed with the San Angelo Standard-Times on Monday.

McCoy, a Windhorst native, joins the Hawks after three seasons as the Jackrabbits coach. He also had coaching stops at Seymour, Paradise and Granbury. He finished his tenure as the Jackrabbits' coach with a 45-40-2 overall record, including a 16-14 2026 season in which they finished one spot shy of the postseason.

"We are very excited for coach McCoy, his wife Emily and their family to join the Wall community," Morrison said.

McCoy inherits a Hawks team fresh off a state semifinal appearance, where they dropped a three-game series to Paradise in Abilene.

In addition to his position as baseball coach, McCoy will also be on the football coaching staff in the fall. He was previously the co-defensive coordinator at Bowie, along with an assistant role on the basketball team.

The Hawks' new coach takes over for Jeremy Gordon, who accepted a coaching position at Austin Westlake. Gordon led Wall to the peak of Texas high school baseball in 2025 when the team won the Class 3A Division II baseball championship.
