Nipmuc baseball player Ryan Poirier was voted the Daily News Boys Athlete of the Week for May 11-17. He doubled twice with six RBIs on a 4-for-4 day in a 25-4 win over Bay Path.
The sophomore received 28.21 percent of the more than 1,100 votes. He beat out Millis Brody Barrett (24.11 percent).
Now we turn our attention to this week's top performers and the candidates for the Daily News Boys Athlete of the Week for May 18-25:
Finn Bell, Wayland volleyball: Put down 34 kills and set the all-time state record in a 3-2 win against Newton North. Led the Warriors with 16 kills and three aces against Acton-Boxborough.
Sean Burchard, Nipmuc baseball: Went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs in an 11-0 win against Sutton.
Ryan Colacchio, Assabet Valley baseball: Threw a five-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Northeast and went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Walter Corcoran, Tri-County lacrosse: Put up three goals and three assists in a 12-5 win over Blackstone Valley Tech in the opening round of the MVACA Large Tournament. Notched six points with four goal and two assists in a 12-5 win over Old Colony that claimed at least a share of the Mayflower League title for the Cougars
Mike Costa, Natick volleyball: Hammered home 23 kills in a 3-2 win against Brookline.
Dylan Diosmito & Jacksen Manosh, Blackstone Valley Tech baseball: They each doubled and had three RBIs in a 14-4 win against Hopedale.
Brendan Dooley & Brady Malo, Lincoln-Sudbury lacrosse: They found the net four times each in a 15-7 win against Reading.
Luke Dratch, Natick volleyball: Distributed 36 assists in a 3-1 win over Milford. Pushed out 46 assists with two aces, a kill and a block to beat Brookline.
Jackson Duguay, Medway baseball: Was 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs and three runs in a 16-2 win over Millis
Ethan Edmunds, Franklin baseball: Was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in a 5-1 win over Sharon. The freshman also allowed just five hits with seven strikeouts to pick up the win on the mound for the Panthers.
Anthony Ficco, Franklin baseball:Threw a two-hit shutout in a 3-0 win against Hopkinton in the Rich Pedroli Classic opener.
Simon Fletcher, Lincoln-Sudbury baseball: Punched out seven batters, including the 100th strikeout of his career in a 6-4 win over Hudson.
Brayden Folan, Hudson track & field: Cleared 12 feet, 6 inches to win the pole vault at the Mid-Wach C championships.
Henry Fowler, Dover-Sherborn boys lacrosse: Found the net four times in a 13-6 win against Algonquin.

Blake Freitas, Hudson baseball: Had a leadoff homer, three RBIs and was hit by a pitch three times in a 13-2 win over Marlborough. Went 3-for-5 with a run against Nipmuc.
Josh Giancola, Nipmuc baseball: Struck out 13 against just three walks in a shutout and allowed one hit in an 8-0 win over AMSA. He also singled and doubled for the Warriors
Fred Gillett, Tri-County baseball: He scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning of a 3-2 victory over Old Colony. The freshman led off the inning with a base hit and came home on a Colton Darling bunt and a throwing error.
Michael Harmon, Algonquin tennis: Led the Titans to a 4-1 win over Acton-Boxborough from the No. 1 singles spot with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Alohi Endila.
Nate Heinen, Lincoln-Sudbury baseball: Drove in three runs and was 2-for-3 in a 5-4 win over Westford Academy.
Vikram Hiranandani, Westborough tennis: Rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Ben Luyrink at No. 1 singles to secure a 4-1 win over St. John's (Shrewsbury).
Elias Kell, Medway baseball: Went 4-for-4 with two doubles, five RBIs and three runs in a 17-4 win over Medfield. The victory secured the Tri-Valley League Small title for the second year in a row for the Mustangs.
Ben Lane, Hudson lacrosse: Scored four goals and added an assist in a 10-1 win over Lowell Catholic.
Oli Lareau, Ashland baseball: Had three hits and three RBIs in an 8-3 win over Dedham.
Ari Levine, Hopedale track & field: Won both the shot put (53 feet, 7 inches) and discus (159-3) at the CMAC Meet of Champions.

Parker Shen, Lincoln-Sudbury volleyball: Powered down 17 kills with five digs and two aces in a 3-1 win over Wellesley. Had a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs in a 3-0 win over Doherty. Notched a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 win against Wachusett.
Selection Tuesday: MIAA boys volleyball and rugby brackets released for 2026 tournament
DJ Silverstein, Franklin baseball: Allowed just one hit with no walks and seven strikeouts, throwing a shutout in a 2-0 win over Natick to win the Rich Pedroli Classic championship. Also allowed just four hits and a walk with four strikeouts over four innings in a shutout win against Milford.
Noah Smith, Hopedale baseball: Was 4-for-4 with a triple, double, eight RBIs and his 100th career hit in a 14-4 win against Keefe Tech. Smith had another 4-for-4 day with three RBIs and two runs in a 10-4 win over Bartlett.
Gavin Sullivan, Tri-County baseball: Drove in three runs on a 2-for-4 day in a 6-2 win over South Shore.
Duc-Tri Nguyen, Marlborough boys tennis: Secured a 3-2 win over Bromfield with an 8-6 win over Michael Mao at No. 2 singles. Prevailed 8-1 against Asish Sahoo at No. 2 singles against Littleton.
Will Zalosh, Wellesley baseball: Tripled and doubled twice with five RBIs in a 14-2 win against Framingham.
