The winner of last week’s Baseball Player of the Week poll was Dartmouth’s Chase Afonso. He had more than 8,000 votes (73%) to receive the honor.

In a loss to Somerset Berkley, Afonso went 6 ⅓ innings, allowing 5 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 4 walks with 4 strikeouts. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored.

Previous winners were Apponequet’s Petie Kanakis and Trevor Norton and Dartmouth’s Chase Afonso, Dom Gioiosa and Sebastian Diaz.

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances.

Devin Antonya, Apponequet​


Antonya had a combined 5 hits in three games.

Brayden Bogdan, Apponequet​


Bodgan singled, driving in the winning run to lift the Lakers to a walk-off win over East Bridgewater in 10 innings. He had 2 hits and 1 RBI. He also had a combined 4 hits and 1 RBI in a pair of losses to Bishop Stang and Fairhaven.

Garrett Butler, Apponequet​


In three games, Butler had a combined 5 hits and 2 RBIs.

Amir Cartagena, Bishop Stang​


In three games, Cartagena went a combined 5-for-8 with a 3-run home run, double, walk, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Bubba Garcia, Bishop Stang​


In a win over Apponequet, Gracia went 2-for-2 with a double, home run, 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs. He also was 1-for-1 with 2 walks, 2 RBIs and a run scored in a win over Sandwich.

Tommy Guenette, Bishop Stang​


In two games, Guenette had a combined 4 hits, 3 RBIs and 1 run scored.

Nathan Zexter, Bishop Stang​


Zexter went a combined 4-for-8 with a walk and 2 runs scored in two games.

Chase Afonso, Dartmouth​


In a pair of games against Somerset Berkley and New Bedford, Afonso went a combined 5-for-6 with a walk, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. He also got the win over Durfee, going 6 innings giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs.

Brady Beauparland, Dartmouth​


In addition to going 2-for-3 against New Bedford, Beauparland captured a pair of saves against Durfee and Somerset Berkley.

Quentin Frias, Dartmouth​


Frias went a combined 3-for-6 with a run scored and 4 RBIs in a pair of games against Durfee and Somerset Berkley.

Cam Sorelle, Dartmouth​


Sorelle picked up the win over Somerset Berkley, pitching 5 ⅔ innings, allowing 5 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits and 8 strikeouts.

Luke Cathcart, Fairhaven​


In two games, Cathcart went a combined 4-for-7 with a walk, 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

Evan Lamontagne, Fairhaven​


Lamontagne picked up his third save of the season, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk with 1 strikeout over 4 scoreless innings in relief against. St. John Paul II. He also went 1-for-3 with a walk and 2-run single in the seventh inning in a win over Apponequet.

Ryan Leblanc, Fairhaven​


In a win over St. John Paul II, Leblanc was 1-for-1 with a pinch hit RBI to put Fairhaven up 6-4. He also had a pinch hit single with 2 outs in the seventh inning in a comeback walk-off win over Apponequet.

Jackson Williams, Fairhaven​


Williams had an RBI single to lift Fairhaven past Apponequet in the seventh inning for a walkoff win.

Landen Evangelho, GNB Voc-Tech​


In a win over Bristol-Plymouth, Evangelho had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.

Dominic Ledo, GNB Voc-Tech​


In two games, Ledo had a combined 3 hits and 4 RBIs.

Easton Almeida, New Bedford​


In a win over Dartmouth, Almeida went six innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 walks and 2 earned runs with 4 strikeouts in 6 innings. He also lined a single to left field for the walk-off win.

Jerriel Cortes, New Bedford​


In four games, Cortes had a combined 3 hits and 2 runs scored.

Cole Correia, Old Colony​


Correia pitched a complete game against Upper Cape, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits and 6 walks with 8 strikeouts.

Cam Vallee, Old Colony​


In a win over Upper Cape, Vallee was 1-for-3 with 2 walks, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Charlie Connelly, Old Rochester​


Connelly had a combined 8 hits in three games.

Zach Mendes, Old Rochester​


Mendes picked up a pair of wins on the mound against New Bedford and Bourne, allowing a combined 1 earned run on 7 hits and 4 walks with 12 strikeouts over 12 innings.

Nolin Vieira, Old Rochester​


In a pair of wins over New Bedford and Bourne, Vieira went a combined 5-for-8 with 7 RBIs. He also had an RBI single against Case.
