It's time to vote for the Montgomery Advertiser's boys Athlete of the Week presented by the Vance Law Firm for the week of Feb. 21-27.

This week's nominees include both basketball players and baseball players. With one who earned MVP honors during the AHSAA 3A Central Regional Elite 8 round. Others turned in solid days at the plate as the baseball season is starting to gain momentum.

Voting will open Sunday, March 1, and will be open until noon Thursday, March 5. The winner will be announced on Friday, March 6. Nominees are based off of top performers that are sent in by high school coaches or statisticians. Coaches and team stat keepers can send in stats to [email protected] to nominate players

Montgomery Advertiser's Boys Athlete of the Week nominees presented by Vance Law Firm for Feb. 21-27​

• Montgomery Academy's Braden Gordon - 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in the AHSAA 3A Central Regional final.
• Marbury's Noah Trotter - 18 points, two rebounds, one steal and one assist in the AHSAA Central 5A Regional final.
• Opp's Porter Nelson - 3 for 4 with two singles, a triple and an RBI in a game on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
• Montgomery Catholic's Mylez Gourdine - Eight points, two assists and two rebounds in the AHSAA 4A Central Regional final.
• Montgomery Academy's Finley Haigler - 3 for 4 with four RBIs in a game on Friday, Feb. 27.
