There were many standout performances from Monroe-area athletes this week. Who gets your vote as the News-Star's Athlete of the Week?

Below are the Athlete of the Week nominees for March 30-April 4 as well as a poll to vote for the athletes. The poll closes at 10 a.m. onFriday, April 10.

How the Monroe area impressed at the 2026 finals

Will Allen, West Ouachita baseball: The sophomore yielded four hits, zero earned runs, a walk and 11 strikeouts in a 11-3 victory against Delhi Charter.

Abram Bennett, West Ouachita baseball: The freshman went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and five stolen bases against Delhi Charter.

Ariel Brown, Claiborne Christian softball: The sophomore went 4-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and three stolen bases for the Class C No. 3 Lady Crusaders in a victory against Saline.

Drew Browning, Weston baseball: The senior hit two home runs in two games (at Castor, vs. Union Parish) and collected seven RBIs for the Class B No. 4 Wolves in those victories.

Karley Caskey, Winnfield softball: The junior pitched eight innings with three hits, zero earned runs, a walk and nine strikeouts for the Division III nonselect No. 6 Lady Tigers in a 6-2 victory against No. 8 Many.

Kiette Cooper, Jena softball: The senior yielded three hits, zero earned runs, a walk and 26 strikeouts in two victories (vs. West Ouachita and Grant) for the D-III nonselect No. 1 Lady Giants.

Bradyn Cupit, West Monroe baseball: The senior yielded three hits, an earned run, a walk and 13 strikeouts on the mound and went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double for the D-I nonselect No. 8 Rebels in a 6-2 victory at Neville.

Devyn Downs, Sterlington baseball: The senior went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and four RBIs for the D-III No. 2 Panthers in a victory against Family Community Christian.

Kaylee Eady, Sterlington softball: The sophomore went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs for the D-III nonselect No. 5 Lady Panthers in a victory against West Ouachita.

James Gregory, Oak Grove baseball: The freshman went 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two stolen bases in a victory at Delhi Charter.

Maggie Guyotte, Quitman softball: The senior has seven hits over three games (at D’Arbonne Woods Charter, Simsboro and Lakeside) with a home run, a double, a triple and five RBIs for the Class B No. 2 Lady Wolverines.

Chris Harrell, Simsboro baseball: The senior went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs for the Class B No. 9 Tigers in a 4-2 victory against D-IV nonselect No. 9 Haynesville.

Sam Hartwell, Ruston baseball: The junior went 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a stolen base in a victory against Pineville.

Kailyn Head, Ouachita Christian softball: The freshman pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts for the D-IV select No. 8 Lady Eagles in a victory against Beekman Charter.

Landry Long, LaSalle softball: The sophomore hit a home run, added a stolen base and struck out 12 in the circle in an 8-3 victory against Montgomery.

Kade Luker, Cedar Creek baseball: The junior struck out 15 on the mound and added a double and stolen base in a loss at Glenbrook.

Taylor Madison, Ouachita softball: The senior had five hits over two games (vs. Alexandria and Kaplan) with two home runs, a triple, five RBIs and a stolen base for the D-I nonselect No. 9 Lady Lions.

Fallyn Moore, Oak Grove softball: The junior went 2-for-3 with a double and hit the walk-off single for the D-IV nonselect No. 2 Lady Tigers in a 2-1 victory against Sterlington.

Kinley Morris, LaSalle softball: The senior went 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs in a victory against Georgetown.

Gracie Price, Ouachita Christian softball: The freshman had five hits over two games (vs. Rayville, at Beekman Charter) with a home run, a double, six RBIs and two stolen bases for OCS.

Lillie Price, Ouachita Christian softball: The freshman tossed a no-hitter with eight strikeouts in a victory against Rayville.

Hallie Kate Pullig, Quitman softball: The sophomore had five hits over three games with two home runs, a triple and 10 RBIs for the Lady Wolverines.

Tyler Roach, Ruston baseball: The junior threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts in an 8-0 victory at Pineville.

Zach Smudricks, Quitman baseball: The sophomore tossed a no-hitter with two walks and nine strikeouts in a victory against Doyline.

Leah Steen, LaSalle softball: The sophomore recorded seven hits in two games (vs. Montgomery, at Georgetown) with a home run, three doubles and three RBIs for the D-IV nonselect No. 9 Lady Tigers.

Noah Thomas, Simsboro baseball: The senior pitched seven innings with four hits, zero earned runs, two walks and 14 strikeouts against Haynesville.

Rayleigh Thompson, Caldwell softball: The junior went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and seven RBIs in a 14-10 victory against Tioga.

Trey Trosclair, Jonesboro-Hodge baseball: The senior hit a double and struck out 12 on the mound in a victory at Ringgold.

Micaela Turner, Mangham softball: The senior went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs for the D-IV nonselect No. 8 Lady Dragons in an 11-4 victory at Claiborne Christian.

Kaylee Vercher, Winnfield softball: The junior hit the walk-off grand slam for the Lady Tigers against Many.

Ava West, West Monroe softball: The junior went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a triple and five RBIs for the D-I nonselect No. 6 Lady Rebels in a victory at St. Frederick.

Evie West, West Monroe softball: The sophomore went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, a triple and three RBIs in an 8-7 victory at Neville.
