The high-octane University of Wisconsin-River Falls football team kept rolling in the NCAA Division III postseason, staging a 42-14 win over St. John's (Minnesota) on Dec. 6, its second lopsided win of the postseason.
That puts River Falls into the quarterfinals for the first time in school history against Wheaton (Illinois), with a game scheduled for 2 p.m. CT Dec. 13 at home.
Quarterback Kaleb Blaha threw for 245 yards, ran for 97 and threw for three touchdowns to move his team to 11-1 with the program's first win against St. John's since 1937. Blaha, a native of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, is a top candidate for the Gagliardi Trophy, given to the most outstanding player in Division III.
River Falls has already won its first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title since 1985 this season.
River Falls, still averaging more than 560 yards per game on offense, was ranked third in the nation in the final D3Football poll, with Wheaton (10-2) at No. 19.

Elsewhere in the bracket, Wisconsin-La Crosse fell to North Central (Illinois), 35-27, with the Eagles scoring on the final play of the game to make the score closer. Kyle Haas threw for four touchdowns to lead La Crosse in defeat.
Wisconsin-Platteville lost to Bethel (Minnesota), 35-24, with Bethel meeting North Central in the next round. Both Kristian Gavric and Trevor Syse racked up more than 100 yards rushing in a losing effort.
Wisconsin-Whitewater and Concordia in Mequon were eliminated in earlier rounds of the tournament.
