I was just pondering this, and I'm sure plenty of you more knowledgeable people on here can enlighten me...
So, it appears the lockout will be over soon. (knock on wood). However, all this time that has been wasted would have been spent getting the work done (negotiations, etc) to get draft picks signed. So now everyone is going to have far less time to get this done if they are going to be signed & ready or whatever for the new season.
How do you think this will go down? Will the time crunch mean lower salaries for the rookies (because the players want to get playing so they get PAID), higher salaries for the rookies (because the rookies know they have the owners in a tight spot with there being less time between contracts & the beginning of the season), will this be addressed in the new CBA so it will all be moot, or will it still take just as long as always, and the rookies will be coming in late to the season?
Is my question just stupid? If so, feel free to say so, but explain why.
