North Carolina moved up six spots to No. 16 in this week’s AP Top 25 men’s basketball poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Tar Heels (16-4, 4-4 ACC) is coming off of a huge week that saw the Tar Heels score a convincing 91-69 win over Notre Dame and a huge 85-80 upset win over No. 14 Virginia on the road.
In total, there are five ACC teams in the Top 25, with Clemson, Duke, Louisville and Virginia joining UNC. North Carolina is the second-highest-ranked team behind the Blue Devils and jumped ahead of the Cavaliers.
UNC plays just once this week, traveling to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on ACC Network.
