The North Carolina Tar Heels' baseball program fell short of its goal to win its first College World Series, losing to Oklahoma in three games. While UNC went on a big run this year and returned to Omaha, they are still seeking that first time.
One big reason for their success was the pitching from freshman Caden Glauber. After enrolling at North Carolina a year early, Glauber turned in a fantastic season. He earned All-ACC First Team honors and was named a First-Team All-American by D1Baseball and was named the outlet’s National Freshman of the Year.
While rumors swirled that programs were pursuing him and attempting to get him to transfer, Glauber is staying put.
Per Inside Carolina, Glauber will stay at North Carolina and will not enter the transfer portal:
That's certainly great news for the Tar Heels. While it didn't feel like Glauber was going anywhere, having that confirmation is huge.
In his first season of college baseball, Glauber posted a 1.94 ERA which was the best in the Atlantic Coast Conference for the season. He finished the year striking out 82 batters and hitters had just a .179 batting average.
