UIL state softball live updates: Sundown faces Shiner in 2A Division II title game

The UIL state softball championships begin on Thursday as teams from around the Lone Star State converge in Austin to finish off the 2025 season.

To kick off the three-day event, Sundown will meet Shiner in the Class 2A Division II title game at McCombs Field. The game is set to start at 10 a.m. as the Roughettes look for their first championship in school history.

While this was Sundown's first season to reach the state semifinals, the Comanches made it for the 14th time. Shiner won the 2A championship last season with a 10-4 decision over Beckville. It was the Comanches' seventh title.
