Am I missing an inside joke? Why do you keep saying he is 25?

he's 22 but turns 23 tomorrow. So he'll be a 24 year old rookie if he doesn't come out this year.

Simpson is a game manager.....he managed to win the game

Yeah I'm not saying he's horrible I'm just saying in a normal QB year he would not be a first rounder. Maybe 2nd to me more like 3rd. he might still wind up being able to play he's clearly an accurate passer and seems smart, but he doesn't appear to have a great arm and he looked so bad in the first half under pressure. as we all know NFL QB's have to be able to function when things aren't perfect and he sure didn't look like he's very good at it.

If we get a RT earlier and then a guy like Simpson is there in the 2nd I would probably be ok with it but I don't see a guy who's going to step in and win NFL games. And then that's where the age comes in he turns 23 tomorrow so he almost has to come out but he really should go back to school and get another year of playing experience.

Could get a good RT in round 2

I think people down play Simpson’s situation last night and this year. He is on a team that can’t run the ball and struggles to pass block (sounds familiar) and he was going against a very good defensive coach. He isn’t perfect but I think he can do everything you need a QB to do.

Also, due to the current college landscape, these QBs will continue to not be prepared to be NFL QBs.

To be fair Chopper his throws were all over the place yesterday and he did not look good. Some of them were so far off they weren't even the same area

It would take a lot of development to turn him into an NFL quarterback. We don't even have the staff that can develop anything. I guess it depends on who they bring in for a new coach if we bring in a new coach

When guys are pressured at the rate Simpson is, the mechanics can go. That is easy to correct. He made some good plays, didn’t fold when his team got down early on the road, and did enough to win. Alabama is not the environment that is was. Simpson isn’t perfect but I think he is on par with many recent 1st round prospects.

The best thing was when he was sacked or threw a bad pass he immediately shook it off and didn’t let it snowball. That’s a very impressive quality. Those situations will happen in the NFL. One of my concerns about Murray is that a bad play can unnerve him.

I would rather give the 49ers a 2nd round pick for Mac Jones than spend a Day 1 or 2 draft pick on Ty Simpson.

Seriously, we are talking about a guy who isnt close to being as good as Mac Jones was coming out. If you're that desperate you can just get Mac Jones.

Give Simpson credit for hanging in there after getting knocked around early. Made some nice throws in the 2nd half.

And no turnovers vs. a salty defense was important for AL to win that game.

If he's the best QB on the board when we pick, I guess we have to take him and hope for the best.
No thanks. Mendoza, maybe Moore, but no other QB in the top 10.

Say bye to Mateer. He’s this year’s version of Mayfield. He will be too much of a gunslinger to initially be successful in the NFL. He might eventually figure it out, like Mayfield, but many don’t. Day 2 if he’s lucky.
Yeah, he started well, but that sure didn't last.

I still don’t know how good Dante Moore really is.

The best two defenses he faced in Indiana & Iowa, he struggled mightily. His deep passes are cool, but he doesn’t throw it to the MOF much, which is very worrying. He lowkey had a bad game against JMU last night. Next game against a ferocious Texas Tech defense will tell a lot.

I know Ty Simpson has fell out of flavor recently, but his play when at its peak, is still superior to Dante. He actually targets the MOF & controls his offense, all with having a horrific running game.

Funny that people are down on Simpson after he brought his team back from behind on the road vs the college equivalent of a Vic Fangio defense with an ass offensive roster
