I get the OL isn't giving him a ton of time but he's really bad under pressure and that's just not something that will work for the Cardinals. I just don't see it he looks like a 3rd rounder to me

In a way, it kind of makes sense for Simpson to come out as he will be drafted absurdly high. Next year, he might not even make the first round.
But as far as being ready for the NFL and a team like the Cardinals or Jets? No way in hell.

I felt he got better as the game moved on. He started out poorly but that was more of his offense line problems with OU's pass rush. Sitting behind QB Brissett for most of next season would help him adjust to the NFL. Of course Cards need to fix the OL and could do that in both free agency and the rest of the draft. Kiper ranks him as the 3rd QB behind Mendoza and Moore. He has done well in the tough SEC with 28 Tds 5 Int and 3500 yards.

Simpson is a game manager.....he managed to win the game
Give Simpson credit for hanging in there after getting knocked around early. Made some nice throws in the 2nd half.
And no turnovers vs. a salty defense was important for AL to win that game.

Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels were not first rd prospects before their last season in college. Both were 24-25 year old rookies.
Say bye to Mateer. He’s this year’s version of Mayfield. He will be too much of a gunslinger to initially be successful in the NFL. He might eventually figure it out, like Mayfield, but many don’t. Day 2 if he’s lucky.

Baker Mayfield had three massive stats seasons for Oklahoma. His last two years he led the nation in both completion percentage and passer rating.
It's not even CLOSE between Mateer and Mayfield. Or Mayfield and Simpson. Mayfield was way better than both entering the draft.
Good Lord, help us if we are stupid enough to take Simpson at number 6 or Mateer at any time in the draft.
