because you want a blue-chip prospect at 3. A QB with potential but has question marks makes a lot more sense later in round 1. Didn't Christian Ponder go like 16?
He went 12th and talent wasn't his issue. He 10-6 with good number in his only full season of play. His shoulders were the issue. They are both made of glass.

Christian Ponder's career was significantly impacted by shoulder injuries, most notably a 2009 third-degree AC joint separation in his throwing shoulder at Florida State and a 2013 dislocated non-throwing shoulder with the Minnesota Vikings. He later revealed that the 2009 college injury caused lasting damage, affecting his confidence and contributing to anxiety.

Even Cousins was 6'3. His ceiling is Brock Purdy but the real problem is old for a rookie. He's only 3 years younger than Purdy. He will reach his peak before his rookie contract is over. Was all that understanding of the game just based on being a coaches kid who is older than everyone else?

Even in the 2nd round there is immense risk

Simpson is slightly undersized, remember the extreme success is Montana at 6'2. Kyler was a hobbit and not even remotely in the realm of measurables.

No one in the NFL was 300 lbs on the line when Montana played. You have to look at who is currently successful

Acorns float in Allar’s head during games. No thanks.

Well what is more likely...

Simpson gets remarkably stronger with his throws despite being 23 and undersized or Allar and all his physical tools get unlocked by a good coach?

Okay @Goldfield explain why you think an old short 1 year starter who is not athletically gifted and is also inaccurate deep is worth a round 1 or 2 pick.

ESPECIALLY wnen you consider the history of Alabama QBs. Sell me on this

Too many teams need a qb that is why Simpson will go in the first round.
This is where the tanking talk comes in. Personally I think Monti needs to make a pick here and let's not forget he's on thin ice. Michael B has his insight and trusted Kiem before his DUI

What I would be impressed at is Michael Bidwill drafted a gf, bf whatever I don't care . Then maybe he would have a shorter leash. Just saying

Ok so? If the cowboys gonna give up a least a pick yo move up? Don't you think for a second is why? Many draft decisions to make just pull the trigger every team thinks we're in no man zone anyway. It's time the Cards quit having no balls

Marv jr great pick. Do it again Monti
