Without Seth Trimble or Caleb Wilson on UNC's 2025-26 men's basketball roster, there's no telling how different last season plays out.
Trimble, who earned North Carolina's "captain" moniker, enjoyed his fourth and final season in Chapel Hill with a career-high 14 points, 3.8 rebounds, three assists and 1.3 steals per game. Wilson, who quickly ascended to become one of the top players in college basketball, averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.
Now both in the NBA, this star Tar Heel duo faced each other in Summer League action on Tuesday night. Wilson's Chicago Bulls emerged with a 99-87 win over Trimble's Washington Wizards.
Each UNC standout started for their respective teams, enjoying solid outings in the process. Wilson scored 19 points of 7-of-15 shooting (2-6 3PT, 1-1 FT), adding three assists and a block. Trimble scored 13 points on just a 2-of-7 mark (1-3 3PT) from the field, but drained all four of his free throw attempts while adding three rebounds, two assists and steals apiece.
Wilson won another individual battle against his former college teammate, blocking a Trimble layup attempt late in the fourth quarter.
If you watched postgame interviews after North Carolina games last year, you know that Trimble and Wilson loved what each other brought to Chapel Hill.
This duo may not be playing together anymore, but it's pretty cool to see them still battling on the court. Will these two Tar Heels face each other again during the regular season?
