The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs host the No. 24 Florida Gators in a critical SEC baseball series. Georgia is coming off an impressive road sweep of the No. 8 Mississippi State Bulldogs and earned a dominant 28-3 midweek win over Presbyterian. Florida is coming off a 4-3 road win over the No. 6 Florida State Seminoles.
Florida and Georgia are two of the hottest teams in the SEC. Georgia has won eight straight games and all four of their series to begin SEC play. The Bulldogs (28-6, 10-2 SEC) lead the nation in home runs and have an elite offense, but Georgia will face a big challenge from Florida's strong pitching staff.
Florida has earned impressive sweeps over No. 6 Florida State and No. 22 Arkansas. The Gators (25-9, 7-5 SEC) lost their most recent SEC series against the Ole Miss Rebels, but are more than capable of winning on the road against Georgia.
"When you look at this weekend, Florida statistically has the best three starters in the league on their rotation," Georgia manager Wes Johnson said ahead of the Florida series. "So, it's going to be a dog fight all weekend."
We predict Georgia will win the series against Florida with the Bulldogs clinching the series on Sunday. We think Florida will win one game against Georgia.
