Game planning for one future Hall of Fame pass rusher is difficult enough. Game planning for two? Nearly impossible.

That’s the bind the Los Angeles Rams could put opposing teams in this season if Aaron Donald comes out of retirement to join Myles Garrett. Nothing has been decided yet but there’s a real possibility Donald comes back and rushes the quarterback alongside Garrett this year.

Trent McDuffie doesn’t have to worry about blocking them, but even thinking about it from an offense’s perspective, he has no idea what teams would do. Apparently, Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford don’t, either.

“I even try to think of it, asking Sean McVay and the offense’s perspective,” McDuffie said. “And talking to Stafford, I’m like, ‘How are you guys even going to do your blocking schemes? Who are you going to slide to? Who are you going to try to double team? Like, what problems does Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett have on an offense?’ And they’re both just like, ‘We don’t even know.'”

"Sitting on the backend, I’m cheesing just thinking about it."

McDuffie will reap the benefits of potentially playing behind Garrett and Donald, knowing how quickly they’ll get to the quarterback and force the ball out. He can be more aggressive in coverage and take more chances, creating turnovers and extra possessions for the offense.

“It’s going to be a problem regardless,” he added. “It’s a problem with Myles, obviously, but you add another player like Aaron Donald, for me sitting on the back end, I'm cheesin’ just thinking about it.”

McDuffie isn’t the only person smiling from ear to ear thinking about Garrett and Donald teaming up. Every Rams fan is feeling the same way right now.
