I seriously doubt we trade FOR any players. As much as it sucks, it's obvious we need a QB in the draft so giving up any draft capital on another losing season just doesn't make sense.
Cardinals potentially could give up some players:
-jalen Thompson- good safety on the last year of his contract. Questionable future with the team
- Dante stills- this one would hurt but with drob and Nolen almost back, does the front office see him as expendable?
That's about all I see worth trading for in the Cardinals trash heap

Only reason we make a trade is if MO really feels he’s on the hot seat.. otherwise he’s standing pat so he can stock up on draft picks with his amazing draft history

I'm not getting into a Kyler vs. Jacoby discussion, even though I've been very impressed with Jacoby. My question is why is Jacoby a journeyman QB? He looks like a starter to me. But there must be a reason.

Because he sucks as a starter. I had the pleasure of watching paint dry with him as Colts fan in Indiana post Luck era. It was painful… and boring

Draft pedigree plus being on some bad/middling teams.
Started 15 games for the colts in ‘17 and went 4-11. Offense was the third-worst in the NFL.
Started another 15 games in ‘19 and went 7-8. Passing offense was bottom 10 then also.
Started 11 games in Cleveland in relief of Deshaun Watson and went 4-7 as part of the 21st ranked passing offense.
Never good enough to keep a job and never expensive enough for a coaching staff to keep investing in. Maybe he lacks that dawg that seeks out starting jobs instead of cushy clipboard holding roles.
Those colts teams had pretty darn good rosters on both sides of the ball fyi… would have been superbowl contenders had Luck still been able to go.
With the season a disaster the only moves that would make sense would be Cap relief, a player with a few more years under contract or a deal unusually favorable to the Cards. The latter means getting far more for less than you’d expect. You’re usually getting someone a team has given up on but you feel confident offers more.

No looks about the same.. still losing games, can’t finish games. Shows some flashes of a starting QB throughout the game - tough guy, great locker room guy. Your ideal backup QB. Flashed the same in Cleveland too.
I think maybe because a lot of the time back ups come in playing loose, and with nothing to lose. Like the Sun Tzu thing.
But what were seeing so far from JB transcends that a little. For 59 minutes and 30 seconds on Sunday, he carved up the GB secondary like a Christmas ham.
If I’m right that the Cards will move on from Murray next offseason, don’t expect any trade action. They must maintain maximum flexibility to have QB options.

Its the same story with every backup. Good enough to get you beat.
The problems with this team are systemic and no changes during the season are going to help that.
Get ready for 4-6 wins max.

Tune should have never been drafted. This is starting to be a theme with MOs picks.

Couldn't they use additional picks to potentially move up in the draft to get a quarterback though?
I’d take any of those guys over Tune.. Browning became a turnover machine but also looked decent in a few of his starts.. went 4-3 a few years back. Can’t ask for more than that
I have been thinking about that too, Harry, and I agree to an extent. However, say they bring in someone like Calvin Ridley, Braxton Jones or another WR or OT, and they don’t give up any picks in the process, doesn’t that make sense? Pick swaps seems to be the new trend among GM’s, so let’s say they swap a fourth for a sixth and said player. I could live with that.
I agree that there would still be less assets to go after a new QB, but I think you have to consider all the variables, and it would also help a potentially new QB to have talented players at key positions.

There is NO WAY the Jets pass on taking a QB if they have the #1 pick. It is very possible that the #1 pick doesn't turn out to be the best QB in the Draft. Thus the term, Crap Shoot. Of course we've always been lucky so we have that going for us.
Ya actually man.. he looked far better in preseason than Tune did in any scenario man.
