We are counting down the 15 biggest moments from the 2025-26 year in Kentucky Wildcats sports. It was a tough year at times, but one that provided a lot of fun, and a lot of highlights. No. 14 is brought to us by the women's basketball team and its star, Clara Strack.
The Kentucky women's team floundered down the stretch last season, going 4-6 in the ten games leading up to their season finale against South Carolina. During that stretch, Strack had some tough outings, and her play was inconsistent. That led coach Kenny Brooks to call her "the worst superstar I've ever coached." Some players would have folded. Strack took it as a challenge.
Against South Carolina, though they lost, Strack scored 24 points and helped keep the Wildcats in the game. She followed that up with 20 points and 13 rebounds against Arkansas in the SEC Tournament, then 33 points, 8 boards, and 3 blocks against Georgia. It was as good a three-game stretch as Brooks could have asked for from his star, and the exact response he was hoping for.
Strack had a terrific year overall, and had several big games. However, her run after her coach criticized her showed the type of player, and person, she is.
