Agreed. Drafting QBs in the second, third, fourth just seems like a waste of a draft pick.

I'm not seeing even one tier, let alone a couple, separating Brissett from Smith and Cousins.

Boiling it all down to one stat, passer ratings in 2025 were 94.1 for Brissett, 84.7 for Smith, and 84.8 for Cousins.

Even in his last two years with Seattle, Smith was only at 93.2 and 92.1, and now he'll be 36.

And though many people view 2025 as a "bounce back" year for Cousins, his passer rating was actually lower than his 2024 mark of 88.6... and now he'll be 38.

Maybe. If you think that passer rating is the only stat that matters, and 2025’s passer rating for Brissett is predictive rather than an outlier, I get the argument. I just don’t agree.

I think most NFl people would agree that Geno and Cousins are better than Brissett. The Raiders were a catastrophe last year. But maybe Geno is just washed. I’m not advocating for signing either.

You know what I want to do.

Doesn’t matter daves. As long as a 2026 QB1 option doesn’t have “K1” on the back of his jersey, guys like Kerouac9 and BritCard are ALL IN.

Anthony Richardson, Malik Willis, cousins, Winston, BBQ, Philip rivers. Anybody but poor Kyler.

The Never Murray’s are secretly hoping that a guy like Zach wilson will miraculously lead us to 11-6 next year. lol

I mean that would be great if it actually happened but it also sounds like we’re pretty close to rock bottom.

Yeah bro. Kyler is hopeless. Sorry. Kyler had zero rizz in 2025 and I’m not ready to see if he can get it back with his third coaching staff.

But I’m not saying Zach Wilson can lead us to 11-6. I’m saying I’d rather go 6-11 with Brissett and Wilson than go 8-9 with Kyler or Cousins.

If you’re a K1 superfan or in his camp or whatever, the above sentence has to be a little alarming.

People legit do not like the way he conducts himself on the field. At all.

They don’t like the way he plays the game.

It wasn’t always like that but it sure is now.

For his sake, I hope he has some people around him that will tell him some hard truths.

I get that. But you always need a good cost controlled back up that creates competition and if they shine you can trade them. QB is the most important position. We seem to draft it the least.

I just want to see who we get in free agency at QB. If we get a decent starter and back up, then draft Qb in later rounds. If we have a weak squad at QB, you obviously need to use draft capital at that point.

yep...and not to mention...crap happens.
damn patriots turned a sixth round pick into two hands full of super bowl rings...
an undrafted guy got us to a SB, after winning one with the rams...

its the shotgun approach...keep looking, keep trying, try anything, and try everything...sooner or later something has to hit.

yeah...
the thing is, all these draft pundits are fickle...and flavor of the week...they dig into everything all during the off season to keep content flowing they end up changing their own minds over nothing.
we got Mendoza..love the kid, I been hyping him up since he was at CAL..awesome....

But during the 2024 season we had a couple guys projecting as first rounders...fairly early first round... but one went back to school, the other broke his shoulder during the playoffs....
Thats Drew Allar and Carson Beck...and both of them would have been top 20 picks in the 24 draft.
the talent is still there...but talking heads and over analyzers talked themselves out of them...not because they are crap prospects but because in the quest for something to say these guys focused in and dug deep on every little thing until they could only see that instead of whats right in front of their faces... both kids are well talented young men who can start games in the NFL.

oh yeah.... Garrett Nussmeier...the kid from LSU....he would have been a first rounder last year too....
dont be surprised if one or two of these guys go in the first this year... but certainly dont be disappointed if we get one of them in the third...thats a steal.

the thing is... teams make huge investments into the QB's they draft in the first round... guys after that, not so much.
The staff puts the effort in to making that first round guy a success because often their job is riding on the kids success...so they get more one on one time with the coaches...and when they get in the game, if they falter...they get a couple more tries.

dudes drafted in the third round get one shot...they have to want it...have to chase the position coach to get feedback, more drills, extra work... but then they usually have to put that time in on their own in order to get good.
bad news for a lot of these guys because they rode through college on natural ability..so chasing down a coach after practice to ask for more drills is totally foreign to them...later drafted QB's have to prove they are hungry. Prove they belong there...or their opportunities dry up really fast.
because that staff is surely going to put way more of their effort into developing the 40 million dollar kid over the 5 million dollar kid.
late round picks have to be driven, obsessive...in order to get a real chance to be a starter....QB1 goes down, they have to be ready...if they aint, the GM will be on the phone monday morning looking to pull some dude off the Bills practice squad.
I think the liklihood of a guy having that level of obsession goes up when he was looking forward to being a top pick...but an injury or circumstance forced him to wait a year for the draft...and suddenly everyone is saying he is a scrub..its a wakeup call that can put a chip on a guys shoulder....and IMO we have a few guys in this draft that qualify...
I mean hell...Beck has played in what?? Three National Championships?? Started like 55 games...all against SEC competition...dude by far has the best resume of all the QB's in this draft
but nobody wants to consider him?? I would be pissed.

That's four different guys that went to Super Bowls. Look at how few QBs get there. I'd still like my odds on that. It's better than a high first rounder, maybe number one pick, who can't even get to the play offs with any consistency.
