MHJ trade rumor out there. I don’t really believe it is valid but it’s a decent offer.

People keep bringing up these journeyman QB’s like we don’t already have one on the roster making $9m bucks.
Cousins and Geno are a couple tiers up from Brissett, but I get it. That’s why I’d rather roll the dice on one of these younger highly drafted vets who haven’t panned out yet.

Well, if you wanted Mendoza badly and you knew they could package those picks to move up...maybe you pull that trigger.
I wouldnt hate it... use their first on a replacement WR in a decent WR draft...then use their 3rd on an OG...or as ammo to move up and get a QB at like 30 or so.
could conceivably come away with three first round picks...a RT, WR, and QB

I'm not seeing even one tier, let alone a couple, separating Brissett from Smith and Cousins.

Boiling it all down to one stat, passer ratings in 2025 were 94.1 for Brissett, 84.7 for Smith, and 84.8 for Cousins.

Even in his last two years with Seattle, Smith was only at 93.2 and 92.1, and now he'll be 36.

And though many people view 2025 as a "bounce back" year for Cousins, his passer rating was actually lower than his 2024 mark of 88.6... and now he'll be 38.

Heard on radio today that it looks like a slow trade draft at the top because teams aren't willing to give up their 2027 first because that draft is supposed to be so strong.

If the Cards want to trade and get value it looks like it will have to be with a team with multiple firsts this year. Cowboys maybe.

Maybe a team like KC gets desperate and will give a 2027 if they really want Love. But it's looking like a slow trade day.

That means there will probably be a crazy number of trades made. :)

Doesn’t matter daves. As long as a 2026 QB1 option doesn’t have “K1” on the back of his jersey, guys like Kerouac9 and BritCard are ALL IN.

Anthony Richardson, Malik Willis, cousins, Winston, BBQ, Philip rivers. Anybody but poor Kyler.

The Never Murray’s are secretly hoping that a guy like Zach wilson will miraculously lead us to 11-6 next year. lol

I mean that would be great if it actually happened but it also sounds like we’re pretty close to rock bottom.

Me too! I'm thoroughly sick of watching Murray on the Cardinals.

And since there's no likely franchise QB available at #3, I'm prepared to either muddle through with Brissett or take a long-shot chance with a young, cheap retread for one year AND a later drafted QB, with a better chance to get a franchise QB in the 2027 draft if it doesn't work out... OR, to take what I think is a decent chance that won't carry excessive long-term costs with Willis if LaFleur is sold on him.

Honestly the more I think about it the more I think drafting a guy is just a waste. You might end up with a Davis Mills who can give you false hope, making you eschew going for a QB

Willis is likely going to cost 35M+ for at least 3 years. That's not that far off of Kyler's contract. (money and length)

not that I want Kyler to stay...

100%. Nobody outside of Mendoza fills me with any hope of being a franchise QB. Someone might stumble into a perfect situation; we all know the Cards is not that.
