I still check this site at least once a day but haven't posted since January. When Dennis Green was chosen as coach I was very surprised but exstremely happy. I tried to jump on the enthusiasm with an article I read about him being the best fit for this franchise and the fact that he would add to the number of black coaches in the NFL.
My post was misconstrued as my being racist and that hurt. I'm a hientz 57 myself and I responded outside of the lines with threats. That's how much it affected me and I was wrong for that.
I lived in Yuma before coming out here 7 years ago. Having lived there I understand the sensitivity involved with this subject. I've worked with folks that are in this category. I know that I can't change them so I don't try. I have been a closet fan since they arrived in Arizona. Hopefully now I can come out of the closet since it looks like this team is finally on the right track.
I have never played football so I have never understood the schemes/plays but have always loved the game. And have supported this team through much ridicule. Now hopefully I can get the last laugh.
I saw the picture of you and your wife and now understand why you reacted the way you did.
I'm sorry for my reaction but hope that you now understand that I only did so because that's not who I am.
I won't be posting much but felt that I owed you this apology in front of the board.

Thanks for listening.

Heinz Foods Corporation
Heinz 57 - What is the significance of "57"?
The Heinz 57 Varieties slogan is synonymous with the name "Heinz." Our corporate history tells us that in 1896, Henry John Heinz noticed an advertisement for "21 styles of shoes." He decided that his own products were not styles, but varieties. Although there were many more than 57 foods in production at the time, because the numbers "5" and "7" held a special significance for him and his wife, he adopted the slogan "57 Varieties." Thus, a new advertising campaign was launched for Heinz 57 Varieties — and the rest is history!

As a colloquialism Heinz 57 is used to refer to a mixed breed or "mutt"; used for dogs, people or other catagories; meaning that the referenced individual has a geneology comprised of a variety of sources.
