Sometimes, it's just your night.

Monday night was Colt Keith's night for the Detroit Tigers.

Keith hit one home run, then another, then a third.

In the process, he became the youngest Tigers player to have a three-homer game since 1955:

For what it's worth, Keith will turn 25 years old in August.

The 24-year old Keith wasn't too close to the Tigers record, though, which is actually also the MLB record for a three-HR game.

That was set in 1955 by Al Kaline, the all-time great.

Kaline was 20 years, 119 days old on April 17, 1955 when he launched three home runs. No one has done it younger.

The Tigers have had some promising bats break into the majors at a young age, but none of them have done this.

Keith is the one who got closer to Kaline than anyone else, although still a few years off.

It's one of those nights a player probably won't forget. Keith pretty much couldn't miss, and that's all that really ends up counting on this night.
