There were plenty of great performances last week on the local diamonds, and high school sports reporter Rich Garven takes a look at 25 of the best of them for readers to vote on for the Hometeam baseball player of the week.

These picks were selected from performances reported by area coaches to the Hometeam Scoreboard.

Congratulations to Algonquin's Ethan Chan for taking the top spot in last week's poll of nearly 6,000 votes, earning 1,534 votes (27.3 percent) to get past Sutton's Jack Patraitis (1,220 votes) and Leicester's Lucas Ricarte (940 votes) for the honor.

Adam Adams, Quabbin​


The junior didn’t allow a hit and struck out 13 over seven shutout innings and went 2 for 2 with two runs as the Panthers defeated St. Bearnard’s.

Colbey Begin, Douglas​


The eighth-grader went 3 for 4 while driving in three runs to propel the Tigers to a wire-to-wire win over Sutton.

Miles Blake, Tantasqua​


The senior racked up 13 strikeouts and allowed seven baserunners over seven shutout innings as the Warriors downed Blackstone Valley.

James Christie, South​


The senior homered and drove in four runs and allowed two hits in seven shutout innings and then went 4 for 4 with three extra-base hits as the Colonels defeated Burncoat twice in a span of four days.

Harper Cross, Doherty​


The sophomore came on in relief in the seventh and didn’t allow a hit or a walk while striking out four over two scoreless innings as the Highlanders rallied from a run down to defeat Uxbridge.

Liam Daly, Worcester Academy​


The senior and Holy Cross-commit hit a two-run homer in a win over Phillips Exeter and had four hits, including a home run, and four RBIs as the Hilltoppers swept a doubleheader versus Phillips Andover.

Jack Forgues, St. John’s​


The senior hit a three-run triple to break open a close contest with Malden Catholic and was 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs versus Milford in a pair of wins for the Pioneers.

Joey Guidotti, Shrewsbury​


The senior allowed three hits and a walk while striking out seven over five shutout innings as the Colonials blanked Mid-Wach A foe Algonquin to complete a 3-0 week and remain unbeaten.

Levi Hessel, Oakmont​


The senior scattered six hits and didn’t issue a walk while striking out 10 over seven shutout innings and scored the winning run after singling as the Spartans edged Clinton in a Mid-Wach C thriller.

Brady Hughes, Wachusett​


The junior allowed six hits and struck out four over six shutout innings as the Mountaineers downed Leominster in a Mid-Wach A matchup of perennial contenders.

Garrett Lucht, Shepherd Hill​


The senior allowed four hits and walked two batters while recording 13 strikeouts over seven shutout innings as the Rams defeated Nashoba in a key Mid-Wach B matchup.

Kyle McLaughlin, Auburn​


The senior went 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs and allowed one earned run in his latest start to earn the win as the Rockets defeated Clinton to remain undefeated and cap a 3-0 week.

Nathan Montville, Hopedale​


The sophomore belted a two-run double to right in the top of the eighth to snap a 3-3 tie and lift the Blue Raiders to victory over Nipmuc as part of a 3-0 week in which he collected 6 hits, 3 RBIs and 3 runs.

Anthony Moura, Hudson​


The junior surrendered two runs on six hits while striking out three over seven innings versus Oakmont and was 3 for 3 with a double and three runs against Groton-Dunstable in a pair of wins for the Hawks.

Danny Nelson, Leominster​


The junior surrendered two hits and one run while recording nine strikeouts in a route-going performance as the Blue Devils downed Oakmont.

Eddie O’Rourke, Maynard​


The junior allowed one run on six hits and fanned eight over 7-2/3 innings as the Tigers edged Littleton, 2-1, to kick off a 3-0 week that raised their record to 6-0.

Nolan Remington, Oxford​


The junior racked up 10 strikeouts and allowed two runs over five innings and collected a pair of hits as the Pirates topped David Prouty.

Dom Renzoni, West Boylston​


The junior stole home in the bottom of the eighth to score the winning run after coming on in relief and striking out four over three shutout innings as the Lions edged Ayer-Shirley.

Connor Rice, Tahanto​


The senior went 4 for 4 with a triple while driving in two runs and scoring twice and racked up 11 strikeouts over five scoreless innings as the Stags completed a sweep of a doubleheader against Murdock.

Talen Rosborough, Uxbridge​


The senior slammed a three-run homer versus Southbridge and collected three hits, two RBIs and a run against Advanced Math & Science Academy in a pair of wins for the Spartans.

Jake Schwartz, Nashoba​


The junior scattered three hits and didn’t allow a walk or an earned run while striking out seven and went 2 for 4 with an RBI as the Wolves topped Marlborough.

Mikey Shufrin, Littleton​


The senior went 2 for 3 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs against Tyngsborough and allowed one run and recorded 11 strikeouts over seven innings against Quabbin in a pair of wins for the Tigers.

James Tindall, Grafton​


The senior allowed six baserunners and recorded six strikeouts over seven shutout innings as the Gators defeated Southern Worcester County League rival Tantasqua.

Luigi Villegas, Bartlett​


The junior collected three hits versus Worcester Tech and doubled and tripled while plating three runs against Quaboag in a pair of wins for the Indians.

Alex Vosburgh, Valley Tech​


The senior hit a two-run homer with two outs in the top of the ninth to break a 5-all tie and propel the Beavers to victory over Colonial Athletic League rival Bay Path.
