This season, there will be plenty of new faces on the sidelines, as 10 head coaches will be in charge of their teams for the first time in 2026.

But several coaches set to return to the sidelines this year have not exactly been shaking the foundations of their fan bases with on-field results in recent seasons. So, as we look at the 22 returning head coaches this coming season, which ones are on the hot seat? These are the coaches most likely to end up fired this season.

Aaron Glenn, New York Jets

Things did not get off to a great start for Aaron Glenn in his first season in charge of the Jets, as they began the season 0-7 before limping to a 3-14 finish. The Jets desperately need a fix at the quarterback position this year, but their current go-to is set to be Geno Smith, who has been in the news for some significant legal issues this summer. If things don't go well in New York, Glenn could find himself gone by mid-season.

Todd Bowles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It's weird to imagine that a coach who began his tenure with three consecutive division championships could be fired just two years later, but Todd Bowles could be in that exact spot. He showed signs of improvement over his first few seasons, but his peak was a 10-7 record in 2024. Last year, the Bucs took a step backward and missed the postseason. If they regress again after Mike Evans decided to leave the franchise after over a decade, there will be some calling for this job to open.

Zac Taylor, Cincinnati Bengals

Zac Taylor made two playoff appearances, including one Super Bowl appearance, early in Taylor's tenure. But since then, they've missed the postseason three years in a row and had their first losing record since 2020 this past season. Much of this can be attributed to Joe Burrow's health issues, but regardless of the cause, missing the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season could bring this roller-coaster relationship to an end.
