I guess the Wizards didn't learn from the whole Bradley Beal thing. But I guess that's why they're the Wizards.
I don't know, this seems like a no brainer for the Wizards to me. He is big upgrade from McCollum just in watchability for the fans.

Yeah they aren't going to win any more games, but nothing could have helped that.

What if Jalen Green and Goodwin or Gillespie could be traded for Jaren Jackson. That is a trade you would have to do right?

I mean, it would balance out our roster, we aren't going to have playing time for all the guards we have. Combine that with the fact we probably can't afford to resign both Goodwin and Gillespie for next year.

Only bringing it up because I thought Ishbia's answer about Jalen Green being back before the trade deadline was strange, and the fact he was at the game in Memphis last night - and of course JJJ is a Michigan State guy.

Ooh, that's a tough one. I think I would do it, personally, as a trade like that would certainly balance the guard heavy roster a bit. I don't see Memphis' side of this at all though. If they're trading JJJ I would expect they would want draft assets that Phoenix just doesn't have to make this enticing in an open market.

I'm open to trades but not just any old trade. Maybe I'm old fashion but I believe in loyalty. However, some players actually would like to be nearer the home for example. Hope the Suns have learned something about the Durant and Beal experiment.

JJJ and Portis would be good pieces on the Suns, but no clue why the other team would want to trade them for the above mentioned proposals. RO and GA would be luxary not necessary pieces for them.

It’s crazy… the 2019 draft was regarded as the most loaded draft in years with Ayton, Luka, Trae, JJJ, Duke guy (who’s name escapes me) and seven years later only ONE of those guys, JJJ, is still with their first team.
Wasn’t SGA and Mikal Bridges in that same draft..

I think so. He is essentially a bigger Royce with an "Almost-Brooks" attitude. Shoots just as well as Royce, has three or four inches and 20-ish pounds on Royce, rebounds better and has a nasty attitude. He'd give Suns a legitimate power forward (or even a small-ball Center) who can stretch the floor. I am a huge fan of Royce, going back to his Utah days, but Portis is one player I would trade him for and not think twice about it.

So basically what you’re telling me is if O’neal and Richards were combined into one person it would be Portis and we open up a roster spot..

Nah. Not interested in Portis over what we have.

This would be a classic case of “if it ain’t broke, fix it until it is.”
We're the 7th seed. Despite over exceeding the season expectations, we're not a flawless team and upgrading talent in positions we're weak at while offloading in positions we're deep at would be a smart thing to do if the right trade presents itself.

I was so worked up about the Suns getting Shai, people had to calm me down because I thought the Suns had traded for his rights.

Hadn't followed Bridges much in college but he was an excellent pick as well. Still I wanted Shai in that draft.

Yes.

I haven't been impressed with Goodwin, but losing Gillespie would hurt. Even so, if the Suns could somehow get a big of Jackson's caliber (and age), they'd have to do it.

There's no reason for the Suns to have any allegiance to Green. He has played a grand total of 30 minutes for them, and might be a potential core piece, but there's no evidence one way or another.

Yup. Two more guys on different teams.

Is that unusual, though? Players change teams a lot, even good players. Cases where a player stays with a team for more than, say, six years are noteworthy because they are so rare.

Word was McDonough had a trade worked on for the Shai pick. I understand he wanted to draft him.

So many talent we could have hit on.. hit on a decent player but traded him away.. I understood the Ayton pick.. he is trash but at the time it was what we needed to go with Book

Exactly...I wouldn't move a core player, unless an opportunity that couldn't be passed up presented itself but Richards and one of Oneal, Dunn, Goodwin or Allen for a starting PF and cap relief would be perfect.
