Per Shams Charania, the Hawks are trading Trae Young to the Wizards for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert.

Hawks went 2-8 with Young healthy this year.

Their defense went from 9th to 2nd to last when he was on the court.

I guess the Wizards didn't learn from the whole Bradley Beal thing. But I guess that's why they're the Wizards.

Not sure how reliable this is: https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-st...minga-futures-latest-nba-trade-deadline-intel

Jerami Grant and Zach LaVine continue to be among the top trade targets for the team to increase their offensive potential, and the Bucks recently made calls to the Phoenix Suns, checking in on the availability of Jalen Green, sources said. However, the Suns are not interested in moving the young guard and view him as a potential deadline addition for themselves when he returns from injury.

Multiple teams around the league are keeping an eye on Milwaukee to see what happens with Portis, a tough-minded big man who can stretch the floor and be an instant source of energy coming off the bench for playoff-contending teams. The Charlotte Hornets, Suns, and Warriors are among the handful of teams mentioned as suitors for Portis in a buy-low spot, assuming the Bucks include his contract to make a substantial upgrade in a different trade.

Trae and Middleton have relatively short contracts though

Thinking the Wizards needed a name for star power attraction. I understand the trade hinged on them getting Corey Kispert.

Is Portis going to give us a big jump? I don’t like the sound of that. Part of me feels having that insurance in Richards and Oneal might be better.

I think so. He is essentially a bigger Royce with an "Almost-Brooks" attitude. Shoots just as well as Royce, has three or four inches and 20-ish pounds on Royce, rebounds better and has a nasty attitude. He'd give Suns a legitimate power forward (or even a small-ball Center) who can stretch the floor. I am a huge fan of Royce, going back to his Utah days, but Portis is one player I would trade him for and not think twice about it.

Actually Kuzma is more Royce than Portis.

That said, I'm not sure about this trade. I wouldn't hate it, but I wouldn't particularly love it either until well after it happened.

Nah. Not interested in Portis over what we have.

This would be a classic case of “if it ain’t broke, fix it until it is.”

idk

jalen book brooks portis williams?

that's a monster lineup - a can beat anybody lineup - but we already can beat anybody minus the nuggets - portis would definitely help just depends on who we're (for real) trading

It’s crazy… the 2019 draft was regarded as the most loaded draft in years with Ayton, Luka, Trae, JJJ, Duke guy (who’s name escapes me) and seven years later only ONE of those guys, JJJ, is still with their first team.

Bagley, Marvin III - Kings took him instead of Luka
