Watched the Spurs three times so far (all coincidences, I assure you). When Duncan comes off the floor there's no gangly, long-armed Eurobeanstalk on the bench to play some defense. The Spurs can still rebound and they're plenty capable to score, but they go really small when they go to the bench. Pop's doing his normal thing by limiting starter minutes early in the season, but I really don't see a late season push from these guys this year. They don't have any size on the bench. I bet they wish they had shelled out the cash for Luis Scola now.
Add in the fact that Duncan is starting to show some age on his knees and Ginobli is starting to lose his marbles when he has the ball (seriously ... a no-look pass every time down the floor? he threw one into the third row the other night), I'm not seeing this team being a WC contender anymore.
Anyone think I'm jumping the gun here? Anyone else seen them this year?
