Explain that one to me. The QB fumbles, Berry runs it back for a TD. Refs review the play, say yes it was a fumble and give us a first and 10.

Earlier today, Osi Umenyiora of the Giants strips the Washington QB, picks up the fumble and runs it back for a TD.

What is the difference between these two plays and why did we not get credited with a TD? Seriously WTF!!

This whistle was blown. The play was ruled dead before berry even picked up the ball and ran with it. If the whistle had not blown, it would have been ruled a touchdown.

Wasn't the inadvertent whistle nonsense done away with after the Denver game last year? Hoculi's career was almost ended from it.

It's maddening.

They said the play was called dead on the field. You don't hear every whistle. Plus the ref can still call a play dead by waiving their arms and motioning the play is over.

Whistle or no whistle the play was called dead.

When you review it you can't see anyone waiving or hear any whisltes but you can't see all the refs and all it takes is one to say they did even if they didn't and it's over.

I agree in years past that stands as a TD but it's just messed up, I bet you this comes up in a bigger game this year and people will howl again, just watch.

It was the exactly right call. In years past we wouldn't have even gotten the ball. The rule changed so that the team gets possession if there is a clear recovery. So, we didn't get screwed by the rule, we were helped. That's not to say they didn't miss the call at first, but I sure in the heck thought it was an incompletion and I can understand why they did too.

The bottom line is the officials were instructed by the league either last year or two years ago to let the play continue then make a decision either on the field or after review if their decision is questioned by a head coach. They should not of killed the play for the simple reason it costs the Cardinals a touchdown.

99% Of the time a QB is hit and the ball flies forward like that it is an incomplete pass. The ball sailed well across the line of scrimmage, about 5 yds beyond which means it traveled about 15 yds through the air.

Just a freaky play. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then in most cases it's an incomplete pass.

I have the game on DVR. Went back and looked. We didn't even come close to having every ref on the field on camera all the time. Don't know how you could make that determination.

The REFERREE himself waived his hands. I could see it clearly from my spot in the end zone. He doesn't need to see a review to know if the play was waived off. He waived it off himself.

Is this the same ref who couldn't count to 12?

It was dead ball play. Unquestionable. As a matter of fact, we should be thankful it was ruled a fumble rather than an incomplete pass

i don't think anyone is questioning whether the ball was dead. An experienced crew probably let's the play continue,as they're supposed to, instead of blowing the whistle.

Yes, this is what happened. And, it was never ruled as a TD. It was marked back at the LOS and both teams ran their punt units out before the review.

No conraddobler was saying that nobody whistled the play or waived the play dead. Which is incorrect and the reason for those responses.

That still brings up a good point. How can you review a call for 12 men when you do not have a camera that shows the entire field?

Don't know. How can you blow an arrant whistle? Ish happens.

Sorry but this is wrong. An experieced crew would have done the same thing, ruled the ball dead and an incomplete pass. Or do experianced crews never blow their whistles on what looks to be an incomplete pass?

The only time a crew would let the play continue is if they originally thought it was a fumble, only to go back to the replay to see it was a forward pass, but that wasnt the case here, it was the opposite and there isnt a crew in the league that wouldnt blow the whistle on what they think is an incomplete pass.

The let the play continue only applies to when the original call is a fumble, not incomplete call.

The refs did that play as perfect as you can get according to the rule book.

There are far more camera's then that of just what TV shows us.

How do you think the coaches get those sky high snap shots after each play.
