as I recall we suspected Qatar of paying off FIFA to host the WC. I think later it was proven to be factual. They tried to hide it or shy away from it at least. This is open corruption and attempts to fix results.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino affirmed on Thursday that Iran will participate in this summer's World Cup despite the country's current conflict with the United States.

Iran is scheduled to play games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., and Lumen Field in Seattle as part of Group G.

FOX buys World Cup TV rights from FIFA for $480M deal.

All 104 matches will be on FOX.

YouTube reached a deal to broadcast first 10 minutes of every match to be streamed.

Some full matches but limited.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 50/50 or all on YT in 2030.

same, and it's not impossible for them to flop. that could happen to anyone. and there are always surprises at the WC. the question for me is can they beat one of the top teams in the knockout stages. that would be a real turning point for USA. If you go back to 2002, they did beat Portugal and Mexico. Back then Mexico were a very good team expected to make a deep run. USA also would have probably defeated Germany if there was VAR. that is under the assumption that they would have been awarded a penalty and the German player got sent off, which is what should have happened.

there is a world where the USA team can be competitive and they certainly have the talent to do it.

lol, like he'd pay regardless. he can just show up if he wants to. he will probably be at the final I would think.

anyway, a few years ago I really saw myself going to a game. I have zero desire to go now. I'll just watch on tv. It will be nice to watch the games at a decent time. I was in Korea during the last WC and had to watch overnight.
