Nuggets expect Jonas Valanciunas to honor his contract.

I am thinking the only thing they could do to him is sue him civilly. They could win a judgement. I'm thinking the judge would just tell him to play for Denver, or pay the Nuggets for his salary that is due. Maybe a penalty on top of that. I don't think a judge could stop him from playing in another league, half a world away. I hope he goes to Greece so we can see how this plays out. What's the deal? Is he tired of the US? Will he get more money in Greece? I mean it looks like the Nuggets could win. Does he have a ring already?
It aligns with the Lakers championship aspirations to add a starter with experience on a Finals team in Deandre Ayton.

This feels like DA’s last chance. He can get away with being late to practice and missing PT appointments at Portland, but with the Lakers, those habits will be public and heavily scrutinized.
This is feast or famine. No middle ground here
It’s a fantastic opportunity if he chooses to take advantage of it, but the media will be relentless in their admonishment if he keeps dicking aroundIt's a great opportunity for Ayton.
Maybe the Lakers should assign him a personal mentor.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. It's a great opportunity for Ayton.

playing for his next contract is the only reason i think he's got a shot of being somewhat impactful in LA.I don’t think DA has the mental fortitude to keep up in LA.
If Kd was done with him, then Luka and Bron will be as well. Heck even a bottom feeder in Portland was done with him.
Maybe he plays this year for his next contract or he will be a mid level guy next season

That sounds familar. Like familiar for 6 years familiar. One of these days maybe DA will grow up. Maybe with the Lakers. He has a low bar to cross right now.

Paolo Banchero agrees to a five-year maximum rookie contract extension. It could reach $287 million.
